Pikey Peak Trek is an easy yet adventurous journey in the Solu region of Nepal. Trekking to Pikey Peak is the best way to see central and eastern Himalayas. This route was first trekked by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary during their Everest Expedition. Pikey Peak Trekking is a less traveled trail that will present you trodden trails and superb landscapes.
Standing 4, 067 meters above the sea level, Pikey Peak is a beautiful peak that boasts panoramic views of numerous Himalayan mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Numbur Himal (6,958 m), Mt. Makalu (8,481 m), Mt. Chamlang (7,319 m), Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m), etc. Along with that, you will also get to experience rich Sherpa culture and tradition. During your stay in the villages, you will get a chance to look into the daily lifestyle of the locals. The Pikey Peak Trek 10 days will let you visit ancient monasteries. Likewise, the trail is also full of stupas, chortens, and mani walls.
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) is the best time to go on Pikey Peak Trek. These are the best months to go on this adventurous journey because of the fantastic climate and stable weather. Spring is the season of new life when numerous flowers decorate the entire region. Likewise, Autumn is the season of the festival in Nepal.
Pikey Peak Trek is a moderate trek. This does not require any kind of technical training. The trail is not strenuous besides a few steep ascends and descends. You need to walk for around 6 to 7 hours on average daily, therefore little physical preparation will help you a lot. You can do basic exercises, cycling, swimming to increase your stamina.
Pikey Peak Trek will take you above 4,000 meters, which involves risks of high altitude sickness. This usually happens if your body did not get acclimatized with the altitude or if you are not hydrated. Therefore, it is very important to include enough rest days on the itinerary.

Day 01 :Arrival in Kathmandu (1,370m) As you will land on Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our team members will take you from the airport and move you to the hotel. You will rest for a few hours, and later, in the evening, you will stroll on the lively streets of Thamel. You will then end your day with a delicious welcome dinner organized by the company.

Day 02 :Kathmandu – Dhap Bazaar (2,850m)Today, you will take a long drive of around 8-9 hours from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazar. The drive will scenic, and you will get to see beautiful countryside views along with small settlements and lush green hills.

Day 03 :Dhap Bazaar – Jhapre (2,815m)From Dhap, you will begin trekking towards Jhapre through south ridgeline. You will reach Sigane from where the views of the mountains become clear. Further, you will continue trekking and reach Jhapre village that will welcome you with superb views of Mt. Everest and Numbur Himal along with little gompas.

Day 04 :Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp (3,640 m/11,942 ft)Leaving Jhapre behind, you will head to Pikey Peak Base Camp. The trail ascends to a grassy ridge, Bhulbhule. You will get to see an amazing view of the Everest range from Bhulbhule. From here, the trail splits and leads you to the base camp. Passing through old yak hoses and long mani wall, you will contour the hillside. Further, trekking through lush forests, you will reach Pikey Peak Base Camp.

Day 05 :Sunrise at Pikey Peak, Trek to Jarsi Bhanjyang (3,525 m/11,565 ft)You will begin trekking early in the morning. The trail ascends towards the summit of Pikey Peak from where you will get to see breath-taking views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, and many other mountains. After spending some time at the top, you will trek along a ridgeline that leads to Jase Bhanjyang. From here, you will descend to Loading.

Day 06 :Trek from Loading to Junbesi, Visit Thubten Choling Monastery (2,725 m/8,940 ft)The trail descends to Junbesi. Leaving ridgeline, you will drop down through a steep path and lush forest. The trail will take you to Taktor that meets the EBC Trekking trail coming from Jiri. Leaving Taktor behind, you will reach Junbesi in a couple of hours. Here, you will experience the rich culture and tradition of Sherpa's.

Day 07 :Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu, Visit Chiwong Monastery (2,413 m/7,917 ft)The trail move towards Taksindu. Further, crossing a river, you will ascend through dense forest and reach Salung. This village will present you with beautiful views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Chamlang, and Mt. Makalu. On the way, you will visit the Chiwong monastery built in 1923. In autumn, the monastery celebrates the huge Mani Rimdu festival. The trail then descends to Phaplu.

Day 08 :Flight from Phaplu to KathmanduToday, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The flight will be short, and upon reaching Kathmandu, you will get transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore around. In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner organized by the company.
