Walking along the streams and forest by observing beautiful birds, dense rhododendrons (national flower of Nepal), green hills and valleys will give you a heavenly feeling. Another best part of this trek is that it has almost zero chances of altitude sickness. This trek can be done throughout the year, except during the monsoons.
Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking is a very popular short trekking trail offering a multitude of attractions: breathtaking mountain scenery, beautiful Gurung village, forest with rare birds et cetera. If you dont have enough off days and planning a short trek, then the Ghorepani Poonhill trek is the best choice.
After a 5-6 hours drive from Kathmandu, we reach the beautiful city of Pokhara, where we stay in the beautiful lakeside. The next morning, we take a short car ride to Nayapul from where the trek starts. Passing beautiful villages, forest, streams and river banks, we reach Tikhedunga. The ascent to Ghorepani (2850m) takes us through magnificent colorful orchids and beautiful view. The climb to the top of Poonhill the next morning is the highlight of the trek with a spectacular sunrise and panoramic views of snowcapped mountain ranges. The walk to Tadapani offers beautiful landscape that passes through rhododendron forests. The serene views of Annapurna south, Fish Tail, Gangapurna et cetera all lie in the backdrop throughout the walk. The next stop is Chhomrong, a beautiful village in the lap of the Annapurna. The next day is a resting day with a short walk to Hot Spring. A days walk through forests and river banks takes us to Nayapul from where we drive back to Pokhara.
Day 1 :Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Day 2 :Kathmandu - Pokhara (8,23m): 5 - 6 hrs bus drive
Day 3 :Pokhara - Nayapul - Ulleri (2,050m): 6 - 7 hrs
Day 4 :Ulleri - Ghorepani (2,750m): 4 - 5 hrs
Day 5 :Ghorepani - Poon Hill - Tadapani (2,700m): 5 - 6 hrs
Day 6 :Tadapani to Hot Spring 4-5 hrs
Day 7 :Hot Spring to Birethanti and drive to Pokhara
Day 8 :Drive back to Kathmandu by Deluxe tourist Bus
Day 9 :Transfer to Kathmandu International Airport or onward for next program

Day 1 :Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)Arrival in Kathmandu. Our Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A drop to the Hotel by private tourist vehicle is arranged. You can either take a rest or meet us at our office and know the detailed arrangement of the Trek. B&B at the hotel.
Day 2 :Kathmandu - Pokhara (8,23m): 5 - 6 hrs bus driveAfter breakfast, we drive to Pokhara which is 200 km from Kathmandu. We take our lunch in between this six hours bus ride. You can also opt for a flight which takes about 30 min, and then explore Pokhara, renowned for its scenic beauty and lakeside stays. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Pokhara.
Day 3 :Pokhara - Nayapul - Ulleri (2,050m): 6 - 7 hrs From Pokhara, the drive to Nayapool takes about an hour. Our trek begins from here. After a short walk along the banks of Modi River, we reach Birethani. Small teahouses are in plenty along the route. After crossing a village, we climb to Hille and then to Tikhedhunga. We then take a steep ascent up to Ulleri, a large Magar village, which is rather challenging. Overnight stay at Ulleri.
Day 4 :Ulleri - Ghorepani (2,750m): 4 - 5 hrsFrom Ulleri, the trail is a gentle ascent and we pass through rhododendron and oak forests to reach Banthanti. A couple of hours from here and we reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani stay is popular for the Poonhill hike which presents a spectacular view of the sunrise and a superb panoramic view of the mountain ranges. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day 5 :Ghorepani - Poon Hill - Tadapani (2,700m): 5 - 6 hrsToday's journey begins with a short hike to Poonhill, the best viewpoint in the trail and unmistakably a photographer's paradise. A 45 min walk takes us to the top of the hill which is at a height of 3210m. We return back to Ghorepani for breakfast and then move to Deurali along a steep strenuous climb. The walk from here to Banthani is an easy jungle route where we may come across monkeys and Langurs. Further down, we reach Tadapani, our stay for the night.
Day 6 :Tadapani to Hot Spring 4-5 hrs After breakfast at Tadapani, we move down gradually along forests of rhododendrons, cross the Kimsung River and ascend to reach a Gurung village called Gurjung. Continue ascending to Hot Spring and enjoying the rest of day for Hot Spring. Overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 7 :Hot Spring to Birethanti and drive to PokharaFrom Jhinu, we take the trail down to Modi Khola with magnificent views of Fish Tail and the Annapurna range. The walk continues through the banks of Modi Khola till we reach Birethanti, from where the trek started. A walk ahead for half an hour takes us to the van which takes us back to Pokhara. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 8 :Drive back to Kathmandu by Deluxe tourist Bus 5/6 hours bus ride from Pokhara gets us to Kathmandu. The end of the journey is celebrated with a farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 9 :Transfer to Kathmandu International Airport or onward for next programDeparture from Kathmandu. A drop from the hotel to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of flight is arranged in a private tourist vehicle.
