Preparation for Helambu Circuit Trek

Helambu Circuit Trek, which is considered to have a moderate degree of difficulty, is one of the most picturesque and short treks close to the Kathmandu Valley. At Thadepati Bhanjyang, you are about to go to a height of more than 3690 meters, thus it requires commitment. Although it might seem unnecessary, a guide can guarantee your safety while you are on the Helambu trekking route. They will also take care of your paperwork. It is strongly recommended if this is your first time in the Himalayas of Nepal. Physical fitness should be developed through suitable activity. Although this journey has a smaller elevation than other treks, altitude sickness still poses a risk. Avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine, which are believed to increase your risk of developing acute mountain sickness.

Exercises for cardiovascular conditioning, elevation training, and muscular endurance are necessary to prepare your body and mind for Helambu Circuit Trek elevation. Jump squats, hip rolls, step-ups with the heels down, and hip clocks are among the exercises needed for this. This also holds for aerobic exercises like running, cycling, swimming, and brisk walking. With the help of aerobic exercise, your body may become more effective when oxygen levels are low. The whole excursion will be spent walking, it is necessary to strengthen your legs and core muscles. This will help you carry your gear as well as aid in your hike. You need to improve your balance since you have to cross several uneven terrains. Effective elevation training is another recommendation. You may get in shape for your trip to Nepal by going on a short hike near your residence.

Helambu Circuit Trek Best Time, Season, and Months

When determining whether to trek to Helambu Valley, the weather is the essential thing to think about. Although tourists come to Helambu all year round, there are some seasons when the treks are easier.

    • March to May (Spring Season)

Due to the beautiful weather, mountain lovers and travelers come to Helambu valley throughout the spring months of March, April, and May. The climate is moderate, there is little rain during this time of year, and hiking conditions are ideal. All guests will find it comfortable because lower trek zones are much warmer. After March, the hiking season begins. By April, 3,000-meter-high walk trails are adorned with red, pink, and white rhododendron blooms. From the middle of March through the middle of May, the temperature begins to rise. The sky is clear, the temperatures are pleasant, and you have the best chance of seeing the glory of the mountains.

    • September to November (Autumn Season)

One of the greatest times of year to go trekking in the Helambu region is in the autumn. Autumn is a great time to go hiking because of the moderate temperatures, light winds, and little precipitation. The sky is clear, the sun is shining brilliantly, and the mountains are beautifully visible. Additionally, you may take in the breathtaking starry heavens. By early September, the monsoon season will be ended, and the weather will be pleasant to warm. Grain is maturing in the enclave as the greens that bloomed during the monsoon turn to golden hues, creating a stunning contrast against the clear blue skies. The surroundings are unpolluted, and the lowlands are lush. These times coincide with Dashain and Tihar, two of Nepal's greatest celebrations.

Food or Meal Availability on Helambu Circuit Trek

Authentic regional, Asian, and western foods are offered during Helambu Circuit Trekking. We strongly advise consuming fresh veggies and drinking lots of liquids, such as hot lemon, ginger, and garlic soup, and green tea. Although there are many non-vegetarian foods available in the areas where you may complete the Helambu Circuit trek, we advise against eating them due to hygienic reasons. Keeping away from dairy products, alcoholic beverages, coffee, and hot chocolates is also a great approach.

    • Breakfast: You can select your breakfast from the menu. Breakfast items include eggs, pancakes, muesli bread, cornflakes, French toast with jam, butter, and cheese, Tibetan bread, local tsampa porridge, fruits, and hot drinks.
    • Lunch: You will be able to try a variety of mouthwatering foods, including Dhal, Bhat, Tarkari, Tibetan Bread, Sherpa Stew, Steaks, Sandwiches, Momo, Macaroni dishes, Tenduk Spaghetti Noodles, Potatoes, Vegetables, Salad Pizza, Snacks, and Desserts.
    • Dinner: You can select from a menu with selections comparable to those you had at lunch. Dhal, Bhat, Tarkari, Tibetan Bread, Tenduk Spaghetti, Noodles, Thukpa, Pasta, Vegetable Curry, Various Soups, Steaks, Sandwiches, Momo, Macaroni, Potato items, Vegetable and Salad Pizza, Snacks, Korean Ramen, Desserts, Hard Drinks, Steaks, etc.

Accommodation Facility on Helambu Circuit Trek

Numerous hotels and lodges may be found along the trekking route to the Helambu area. A lot of tea houses will be there as well. There are often enough lodgings for a typical night's stay, and you typically hike from one settlement to the next. With adjoining bathrooms, several hotels provide tidy, pleasant bedrooms. Despite the fact that some typical hotels have shared bathrooms, you may just reserve a separate room. The lodgings will grow less luxurious as you ascend in height. Twin-based rooms are very common. Two single beds with mattresses, pillows, and blankets will be provided in the room. There are solitary rooms available in the lowest parts of the Helambu valley. However, the chances of getting a solo room are minimal at higher altitudes because there are fewer teahouses there. Even if you are willing to spend more, you might not be able to find one.

    Helambu Circuit Trek Travel Insurance

At a high altitude, the moderately challenging Helambu Circuit Trek travels through rural areas of Nepal. Getting sufficient travel insurance is suggested in case something goes wrong. Travel insurance is one of the most important documents when climbing in Nepal's high mountains. While walking, you must overcome landslides, steep inclines and declines, and congested paths. Therefore, if visitors unluckily face any kind of impact when hiking in such a circumstance, insurance coverage would be excellent for you. You might be able to avoid making a sizable payment all at once. As a result, we urge all hikers and explorers to acquire the necessary insurance coverage, which will cover all costs associated with high-peak rescue and evacuation. Verify that your insurance policy covers medical expenses, emergency helicopter evacuation, and altitude to a minimum of 5000 meters.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies during Helambu Village Trek

Altitude sickness is a problem for hikers and mountain climbers. The oxygen level starts to drop at a height of around 3000 meters above sea level. Altitude sickness, which is brought on by a rapid height increase, makes the Helambu Circuit Trek difficult for certain people. Altitude sickness may not be hazardous if treated properly. There are several symptoms that might manifest, including a cold, headache, dizziness, exhaustion, loss of appetite, and a slight rise in heart rate. You may handle these issues by bearing the following in mind:

    • When symptoms are present, walk slowly first and foremost.
    • Trekkers must bring medicinal supplies like ginger, garlic, and other herbs.
    • Keep your body hydrated by drinking water.
    • Resist smoking and consuming any type of alcohol.
    • Consume a lot of calories and energy-giving meals.
    • Ensure appropriate acclimatization and descend to a lower height for sleeping.

    Helambu Circuit Trek Difficulty Level

It's not a very difficult walk to hike in Helambu Valley. The exploration of the Helambu Region's bottom side will take eight days. The excursion travels to Sermathang from Sundarijal. You will only be trekking for five days out of the eight that the excursion will last. During those days of hiking, you will walk for around four to six hours each day. Additionally, the trek will be on routes that are not too steep. Consequently, the hiking portion is often satisfactory. Newcomers are welcome to join the hike as well. Thadepati (3690 meters), and Sermanthag (2590 meters), are the highest points of the journey. Comparatively speaking to other Nepal treks, those two locations are not the highest. As a result, there is a low risk of altitude sickness on this climb. Because of that, the journey is easier. The Nepali climate may require some time for hikers to become used to. In the mornings and at night, the high altitudes are often cold. That might thus be a challenge. Helambu Circuit Trek is the least strenuous hike for you to get acclimatize to challenging Treks in Nepal.

8-day Helambu Trek was the Greatest Option

I simply like visiting Nepal. I visited this nation throughout the summer vacations. This time, I wanted something straightforward, brief, and near to Kathmandu, the nation's capital. The 8-day Helambu trek was the greatest option. I really enjoyed the entire tour since it was loaded with waterfalls, mountain valleys, unique cultural experiences, and views of emerging villages. Trails through the rhododendron, oak, and pine-filled Sundarijal forest served as enjoyable adventure destinations. The Green Valley Nepal Treks is my vacation agency. They are really helpful and provide the finest customer service. Oh, and you should keep an eye out for vistas of the mountains along the route. Really fantastic!

Helambu Circuit Trek with Excellent Guide

Green Valley Nepal Treks provided an excellent guide. He spoke English quite well and knew a lot about the hike. He helped me when I became sick and would even sometimes bring us snacks, which was amusing. The porters were also excellent and perhaps of the friendliest individuals I have ever encountered. Finding out about the various inhabitants of the Helambu Region was really fascinating. Just a handful of the Helambu Region's culturally notable towns are Melamchi Gaun, Sarmathang, Tarkegyang, and Gul Bhanjyang. I owe a great deal of gratitude to Arjun and the entire staff at Green Valley Nepal Treks for their assistance in making the Helambu Circuit Trek a success. Highly recommended
