Before your eyes, the mountains and steep slopes start to disappear, leaving just the boundless lowlands behind.

Along your routes, you will witness small towns and individuals earning a livelihood by laboring in the fields. A market, a few teahouses, and large rocks are the only buildings in Chirwa. The Kirati ethnic group, currently referred to as the Limbu, is a significant farming ethnic group that has been present in this area for approximately 2000 years. The main crops grown here are rice, millet, barley, wheat, and maize.

When you get there, you will check in to your teahouse and unwind.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • 6 to 7 Hours

You will be walking today down a path built of artificial stone stairs. In contrast to the second part, which mostly consists of challenging climbs, the first phase consists mostly of uphill strolls. Your Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trekking Trail ascends to the Sherpa communities after passing by the Kirati towns in the lower area. You will have lunch in Lamatar on the side of the river before continuing on an upward trek to Amjilosa, which has a few Sherpa homes and yak pasturelands.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • 5 to 6 Hours

Early in the morning, you will begin the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek up the hard stone stairs, going past a few landslides, little streams, and stunning waterfalls. You will continue your arduous ascent via small towns tucked away in the peaceful valley beneath the mountains, through an area heavily covered with rhododendron and old oak trees, and arrive in Gyabla for a brief lunch stop. Your first mountain vista, Kumbakarna Peak, also known as Jannu Peak, is a gift from Gyabla. Upward-sloping stone stairs will continue till Faley. You will start your mountain trekking journey today along the south bank of the Ghunsa Khola. Along the way, you will pass through lovely rhododendron and pine woods, as well as chortens, mani walls, and colorful prayer flags. • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • 5 to 6 Hours

In accordance with your trek itinerary to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp, this is the second acclimatization day in Kambachen. After a week of hiking, a day of relaxation is required. Lhonak is situated next to a dry lake bed on an open, sandy plain with stunning mountain views. Start your journey to Pangpema (5143m), the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp, early for the most breathtaking views of the mountain's main peak, Wedge Peak, Tent Peak, Nepal Peak, Cross Peak, and the Twins. Due to its ever-changing terrain and little use, the rocky, slightly ascending route follows the moraine for much of its length. You will return to Lhonak for the night after exploring the trip's primary goal.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • 7 to 8 Hours

You will return to Ghunsa village by following the same route after enjoying yourself at the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. The hike via Khambachen to Ghunsa hamlet would take you a good 5 to 6 hours. Your outdoor adventure notebook will be filled with breathtaking mountain vistas and alpine scenery. You may get to Ghunsa village through Kambachen by continuing to walk along the lonely route. You will enjoy the spectacular mountain panoramas, rhododendron woods, and alpine scenery as you go. At Ghunsa, guests may charge electronics, take a hot shower, and the bedroom is cozier than the one above.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • 5 to 6 Hours

Enjoy your breakfast after waking up to the extremely pleasant aroma of burning juniper leaves. While doing their customary puja ceremony at home in the early morning, the entire hamlet burns the juniper leaf. You will prepare your belongings and proceed to the route leading to Amjelosa. With the exception of two hills before Amjilosa and close to Gyabla, you will be walking primarily downhill today. You will reach the little settlement of Amjilosa after six hours of trekking from Ghunsa.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Altitude sickness occurs when the body struggles to adjust to the lower levels of oxygen at higher altitudes. Here are some remedies and preventive measures to avoid altitude sickness:

    • Acclimatization: Gradual acclimatization is key to avoiding altitude sickness. This means taking sufficient time to adjust to the altitude changes and avoiding sudden and rapid ascents.
    • Hydration: Staying properly hydrated is essential to avoid altitude sickness. It is important to drink plenty of water, especially when you first arrive at higher altitudes.
    • Sleep: Getting enough sleep is important for proper acclimatization. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night and avoid overexertion and physical exertion in the evenings.
    • Medication: Certain medications, such as Diamox, can be used to help prevent altitude sickness. However, it is important to consult with your doctor before taking any medication.
    • Descend: If symptoms persist, it is important to immediately descend to a lower altitude. Descending even a few hundred meters can provide significant relief from altitude sickness symptoms.

Loved doing Underrated Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek

I inquired about a serene and lovely trip in Nepal with the manager of Green Valley Nepal Treks, and he recommended the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek. We went on this walk in 2021, and Mr. Arjun provided all the information we needed. To be quite honest, I relished every second of my trek to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. The guest home next to the route and the trail itself was both quite tranquil. It was all really organic food! I have a great fondness for the villages of Khambachen and Ghunsa. It was breathtaking to see Mt. Jannu from Khambachen. Our entire crew was quite amiable. The finest option for a trek in Nepal is the Kanchenjunga North BaseCamp Trek! It's a really lovely journey. I appreciate Arjun recommending this stunning walk. My vacation was excellent thanks to the Green Valley Nepal Treks crew.
