Before doing a physically demanding activity like trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp, you should always see your doctor. Before beginning any exercise program, you should also speak with your doctor.

It shouldn't be too stressful to prepare yourself both physically and mentally for your expedition to Everest Base Camp. You don't have to be a marathon runner or a star athlete to make the journey but don't undervalue it either. However, your Budget trek to Everest Base Camp will be a lot more fun with practice and planning.

Useful Info

Best Time (Season) to Hike Mount Everest Camp

Spring and autumn are the two most popular trekking seasons in Nepal, whether it's for Everest Base Camp or any other place.

The months of February, March, April, and May have mostly steady and dry weather with a mild climate. This time of year is ideal for hiking in the Everest area, with daily views of the mountains and scenery that are crystal clear. Thousands of flowers and plants bloom in the spring, making the walk in Nepal more attractive and fun.

Autumn, which encompasses the months of September, October, November, and December, is another fantastic time to hike at Everest Base Camp. During the fall, daytime temperatures range from 14 to 20 degrees Celsius, while overnight temperatures might drop to -5 to -10 degrees Celsius, making it ideal for hiking.

Food at Budget Everest Base Camp Trek

As a result of the high altitude ascent, your body will require enough carbohydrates and proteins. Food and delicacies from the local area are highly recommended since they are considerably more hygienic. Dal Bhat, a Nepalese meal, is a great option since it has both carbs and protein. The lentils, beans, and pulses soup will provide you with lots of protein. Additional nutrition will be provided via seasonal veggies.

Momo (dumplings), locally grown Barley, Buckwheat, Millet, and Corn Roti (Bread), noodles, sandwiches, bakery products, tea, coffee, and more are among the menu items available. High-fiber grains such as buckwheat, millet, and barley are also nutritionally rich. Noodles, spaghetti, macaroni, pizza, lasagna, curry meals, and fried rice are just a few of the foods that may be made quickly.

At high elevations, fresh vegetable products, green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon, ginger tea, and garlic soup are all highly recommended. We will not recommend non-vegetarian selections since the meat may not be as hygienic. At high altitudes, dairy food, alcoholic beverages, caffeinated beverages, and hot chocolates must all be avoided.

Accommodation for Budget Everest Base Camp Trek

We will manage you a high-end accommodation and teahouse at your price range. Our budget Everest trek itinerary offers accommodations in budget-friendly hotels and lodges. The teahouse has comfortable mattresses with pillows, electric blankets, hot and cold showers, and other amenities. The accommodation usually has two single beds for two trekkers in a group, but if necessary, a single room can be given. Our accommodation offers nice views, comfortable mattresses, and attached bathrooms (not everywhere). If you're touring alone, we can arrange separate rooms.

Difficulties of Budget Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest Base Camp Package is a moderate trip that lasts 12 days. This journey might be difficult for those who are new to hiking, particularly in Himalayan terrain. Because you'll be hiking through dangerous trails filled with numerous obstacles. You can overcome any challenges on this hike if you train effectively and plan ahead of time. You must hike for at least 5 to 6 hours each day on this expedition. The terrain is steep and strenuous, with several ups and downs. Good health and physical fitness are required for this expedition.

Some of the significant challenges that you may face during this high-altitude trek are as follows:

  • Altitude sickness is a serious challenge on every Nepal hiking trip. Trekkers are susceptible to altitude sickness because the routes traverse through high altitudes exceeding 4000m.
  • This trek's paths take you through difficult, isolated, hilly, and harsh terrain. As a result, you'll have to traverse through these trials and establish your abdominal muscles. The trekkers will also face a variety of obstacles, such as tiny cliffs, steep routes, meadows, deep valleys, boulder-filled roads, and so on.
  • During the expedition, the trekkers must walk for at least 5 to 6 hours every day for 10 to 12 days. Most trekkers will find these long-distance hikes hard. For individuals who have never hiked in these surroundings before, going for such a lengthy period of time might be rather overwhelming.

Green Valley Nepal Trek's budget Everest Base Camp Itinerary is designed to carefully acclimatize trekkers so they don't get altitude sickness.

Lukla Flight and Weather Condition

Due to inclement weather, the flight to Lukla or the return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu may be canceled. Even during peak season, it can happen at any time. If your flight is canceled, you will have to shorten the duration of your excursion.

If the regular flight is canceled, a helicopter is available. When aircraft are unable to fly, helicopters are available; if the trip team chooses this alternative, we may arrange it; however, there will be an additional charge, and precise costs cannot be confirmed until the time, since prices are determined by availability and quality. A helicopter ride to or from Lukla is estimated to cost between $300 and $500 per person. Clients must pay this amount in full at the time of service.

The weight restriction for the aircraft to Lukla is 10kg for main luggage and 6 to 8kg for hand luggage.

The Necessity of Travel Insurance for Budget Everest  Base Camp Trek

Travel insurance is required for trekkers taking part in any mountain treks or tours for safety purposes. Purchasing travel insurance, especially while traveling in mountainous locations, is like having a safety net on which you can rely and relax while on your excursion.

We strongly advise purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes emergency helicopter rescue and medical evacuation coverage. It will be an added protection trip, including coverage for personal injury, damage, evacuation costs, and any sickness. Having appropriate travel insurance will give you not only peace of mind while traveling with us but also total coverage for any catastrophes that may occur.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies on Everest Base Camp Budget Trip

Altitude sickness, often known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), is an illness that occurs when people are not adequately acclimatized to a high altitude. To minimize altitude sickness on the Budget Friendly Everest Base Camp Trek, follow this advice from our expert trekking guides and trip planners.

  • Trekkers can get their bodies acclimated by hiking and ascending steadily. They may become exhausted as a result of too much rushed walking, and this might be a key cause of developing altitude sickness.
  • You should hike as high as possible for your acclimatization rest and then return to a lower elevation for nighttime sleep. Proper Acclimatization rest not only helps to prevent altitude sickness but also aids the body in recovering exhausted muscles and adjusting to the shifting oxygen levels.
  • During the hike, it is strongly encouraged that you do not consume alcohol or smoke. Alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco use deplete the body's water reserves. It also slows down and makes you feel tired. It eventually leads to altitude sickness.
  • Drink lots of warm water to avoid altitude sickness in high areas. Every half-hour of walking, you should drink 500 ml of water.
  • During high-altitude trekking, many individuals lose their appetite and eat very little. It's quite risky. Increase your intake of liquid foods and avoid emptying your stomach. It's easier to avoid altitude sickness if you eat well.
  • It's possible that a psychological factor has contributed to your illness. As a result, be ready and optimistic. Instead of dwelling on your bad thoughts, take in the beautiful environment. Maintain a pleasant attitude by conversing with your fellow trekkers or guide.

Safety and Satisfaction for Budget Everest Base Camp Trek

The budget Everest Trek Itinerary is a fully guided trip lasting 12 days. You will be accompanied by a local guide who is extremely experienced, informed, and kind. We deal with qualified guides who are fully insured and have undergone extensive training by the Nepalese government. For safety reasons, our guides will bring all of the necessary gear as well as a first-aid kit with them on the hike. If you have any medical supplies, we recommend bringing them along.

If any of our group members become unwell due to altitude sickness or other unexpected situations, we will send a rescue chopper to return our customers. In this scenario, we may need to file a claim with your travel insurance to pay the costs of your rescue, so make sure you have good travel insurance that covers medical evacuation and an emergency rescue helicopter up to 600 meters.

Budget Everest Base Camp Trek Permits and Their Cost for 2024 and 2025:

Two permits are required for this trek: the Sagarmatha National Park permit and the Pasang Lhamu Rural Area permit.

Foreign nationals will have to pay NPR 3,000 for a Sagarmatha National Park permit. Similarly, Nepalese pay NPR. 100, while SAARC nationals pay NPR. 1,500.

The charge for a permit from the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality is NPR 2000 per person each week for the first four weeks. After that, each person pays NPR 2500 each week. You don't need TIMS permission for the Everest region since you have a restricted area special permit.

GVNT Assures Traveler’s Safety So Well

The Budget Everest Base Camp trek was such a safe trekking experience with the Green Valley Nepal Treks team taking care of each and everything for me. The guides made sure that I got the best food and accommodation facilities.

One thing that I must state here is that I was not sure whether my body was able to adapt to such high altitudes. I talked about that with Raj in the office and he referred me to another trek for me to practice being at a higher altitude and to make my body ready for the Everest Base Camp. This was such a lovely gesture from the GVNT team because due to that short trek, I was able to finish successfully climbing to the Everest Base Camp and return safely.

Everything was so well-managed and the facilities I got during the whole trek were so encouraging and health-oriented. With amazingly talented guides, strong porters, and a perfectly explained itinerary, GVNT offers the safest trek to the Everest Base Camp, that too, at such budget-friendly rates.
