Paragliding in Nepal Overview
The beauty of paragliding in a Himalayan country is incomparable. Nepal’s unique geography consists of mountains, hills, rivers, lush greenery, and much more which adds to a unique paragliding experience. Paragliding is a relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, yet enthusiasts have promoted the sport well beyond imagination. Unparalleled scenic magnificence of Mountain View, Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, and kites can be viewed while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes, and jungles, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayas.
The main area for flying by paragliding in Nepal is the Annapurna region, more specifically the Pokhara Valley. This lakeside town is nestled at the foot of the Annapurna Himal. The paragliding season in Nepal commences from November through February, the best months being November and December. The take-off point for these paragliding flights is Sarankot (1592m.) which also offers prime views of Phewa Lake and mountains at sunrise and sunset and the landing is by Phewa Lake. No previous experience is required as qualified pilots provide a short briefing before launching a paragliding trip.

We take a 20-minute jeep ride from Pokhara to Sarangkot the viewpoint 2000 feet above Lakeside. From here we can see three of the highest mountains in the world - Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu, all over 8000 meters. We offer three types of tandem flights from here.
- Phewa Tal View
In the morning and late afternoon, these 15-minute flights give you a taste of uncovered flight, taking you over Pokhara’s Phewa Lake and then landing by the Lakeside.
- Cloudbuster
This midday flight gives you the thrill of high flight as we thermal up above Sarangkot in the company of eagles and vultures. It takes from 30 minutes to 1 hour. We land by the edge of Phewa Lake.
- Cross-country
Cross country paragliding package offers you the chance to experience flying from one valley to another. Using thermals, clouds, and birds to guide us, we take you on an unforgettable journey north of Pokhara towards the big mountains. We fly as long as we can and aim to return to Pokhara that afternoon.
