On a Jeep, it will take around 3 to 4 hours to get to the starting point of the walk. You will pass via Sudame and Hile en route to Tikhedhunga. Most people who hike to Poon Hill begin their journey in Nayapul. You will go by Jeep to Ulleri since you have less time to do the 2 Days Short Poon Hill Trek. As you pass, you will avoid the steep hills that many hikers find challenging. However, you won't have enough time to meet with folks in Hile and Sudame.

You will eat lunch when you get to Ulleri, then climb upward to Ghorepani. From Ulleri, it will take around 6 to 7 hours. On your route to Ghorepani, you must climb a series of difficult slopes. You will trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani via meadows, rhododendron and oak forests, and pastureland. Nearly two hours of hiking will get you to Banthanti (2200m). The Gurung community predominates in the little town of Banthanti, which has a few eateries and guesthouses. Your 2 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Route will go north to Nangthanti from Banthanti (2500m). You will reach Nangthanti after navigating a number of creeks and minor hills. Mountain vistas are closer and more stunning as you go in a northerly direction. The two-hour hike from Nangthanti to Ghorepani is all uphill. The breathtaking vistas of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, and more await you when you arrive at Ghorepani. You will spend the night in a spotless tea house in Ghorepani.

  • Tea House or Lodge
  • Lunch, and Dinner
  • 6 to 7 Hours
  • 8 Kilometers

The hike will begin before daybreak in the early morning hours. Your goal will be to get to the 3,210-meter-high Poon Hill viewpoint in time to witness the spectacular dawn. You will thus need to take a 45-minute trek from your accommodation to Poon Hill. You must act quickly because if you miss the sunrise, the enjoyment will be ruined. You will wait for the sun to rise after you reach the summit. The sun slowly emerges on the horizon from behind the hills. The dawn is magnificent. You will be spellbound by the breathtaking image created when the sun's rays hit the mountains. You will make the almost 45-minute ascent to the summit before making the descent to Ghorepani. After breakfast, 2 Days Poon Hill Trek from Pokhara Route will take you back to Tikhedhunga (1,500m), and it will take around 5 to 6 hours. As you move southward, the hike will also get a little easier.

You may reach Nangthanti by hiking for two hours in the downward direction. From there, you can see Annapurna I in stunning detail. One additional hour of walking separates Nangthanti from Banthanti. From Banthanti, you may reach Ulleri by navigating a number of streamlets and stunning waterfalls. As you go down through the countryside and gorgeous mustard fields from Ulleri to Tikhedhunga, a tiny settlement area in Nepal home to the Gurung population, you can enjoy mesmerizing views of stunning villages and breathtaking mountains. Poon Hill Trek 2 Days Best Time, Season, Months

The best time for 2 Days Poon Hill trekking depends on your preferences and the weather conditions. The trek can be done year-round, but the best time to go depends on what you want to see and experience.

  • Spring (March to May) season is the best time to trek to Poon Hill if you want to see the rhododendron forests in full bloom. The weather is also mild during this time, making it a great time for trekking.
  • Autumn (September to November) season is also a great time to trek to Poon Hill. The weather is clear and dry, offering great views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The temperature is also mild, making it comfortable for trekking.
  • Winter (December to February) season is a good time to trek to Poon Hill if you want to see the mountains covered in snow. The temperature can be quite cold at higher elevations, but the trail is less crowded and the views can be spectacular.
  • Summer (June to August) season is the monsoon season in the Annapurna region, and trekking can be difficult due to heavy rain and landslides. However, it's a good time if you want to see the lush greenery of the forests and the rice terraces.

It's important to note that during the peak trekking seasons (spring and autumn), the trail can be crowded and the tea houses and lodges can be fully booked. Spring is best for seeing the rhododendron forests in full bloom, autumn for clear and dry weather, winter for seeing the mountains covered in snow, and summer for lush greenery and rice terraces. But it's best to plan your trek outside of peak trekking seasons to avoid crowds.

For lunch, teahouses often provide a range of dishes like rice, noodles, pasta and macaroni, spaghetti, momo (dumpling), pizza, hamburgers, dumplings, desserts, and more.
  • 1 Dinner: After a tough day of walking, dinner is a delicious meal. The teahouses along the path provide similar dishes for lunch and dinner. Requirement of Travel Insurance during Poon Hill Trek 2 Days

It is highly recommended to have travel insurance for the 2 Days Poon Hill Trek from Pokhara, as the trek takes place in a remote and mountainous region. Travel insurance will provide you with protection in case of any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that may occur during the trek. It will also cover you in case of trip cancellation, lost or stolen gear, and other unforeseen events. While the trek is considered easy to moderate, there are still risks associated with trekking at high altitudes. Altitude sickness falls, and injuries from slips or slips are possible. Having travel insurance will give you peace of mind and allow you to focus on enjoying the trek without worrying about the financial implications of any unexpected events.

When purchasing travel insurance, make sure to check the coverage for trekking and adventure activities, as not all policies cover these activities. It is important to read the fine print and understand what the policy covers and what it does not cover. In addition to travel insurance, it is also a good idea to carry a copy of your insurance policy with you on the trek. It is recommended that you also inform your insurance company of your travel plans and provide them with the contact details of your trekking company or guide.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies during Poon Hill Trek 2 Days

Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a common condition that can occur when climbing to high altitudes. The Poonhill Trek 2 Days takes you to an altitude of 3,210 meters, which increases the risk of altitude sickness. It's important to be aware of the symptoms of altitude sickness and to take steps to prevent it. Symptoms of altitude sickness can include headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. In severe cases, it can also lead to confusion, shortness of breath, and fluid in the lungs.

To prevent altitude sickness, it's important to acclimatize properly by spending a few days in a lower altitude location before starting the trek. Additionally, it's important to drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and smoking. It is also important to avoid climbing too quickly and to take rest days if you feel unwell. If you start to experience symptoms of altitude sickness, it's important to descend to a lower altitude immediately. This is the most effective way to treat altitude sickness. In addition, you can take over-the-counter pain medication such as ibuprofen, and oxygen can also be used to help alleviate symptoms.

It's also important to be aware of the symptoms of high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE) and high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE), which are severe forms of altitude sickness. Symptoms of HACE include severe headache, confusion, and loss of coordination, while symptoms of HAPE include severe cough, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to descend immediately and seek medical attention.

Poon Hill Trek 2 Days - A Great Family Trekking Experience

A great family trekking experience. I brought my daughters (18 and 16) and was worried as this was our first time trekking. Our guide (Gopal), was the best! He was perfectly accommodating to all our needs and happy to share knowledge of his culture and life as a guide. His experience and patience gave us the confidence to keep going, even when things got difficult. Gopal always had a smile for us and his good nature made the whole trek a pleasure. Green Valley (Arjun) helped to arrange everything, even providing a packing list and advice prior to our arrival. When our plans changed during Poon Hill Trek 2 Days he reorganized the itinerary and booked transport and accommodation to suit. The flexibility and expert knowledge was much appreciated. We had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend asking for Gopal if you book a trek. We will definitely go with Green Valley for our next Nepal adventure!
