    Useful Info

ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal Best Time, Season, Months

At any time of the year, you can take part in Mardi Himal Trek with ABC via Poon Hill. The monsoon, however, is not a favorable time. Heavy downpours occur in the evening or at night, but the ominous clouds are always there. This led to a poor or nonexistent view of the stunning peaks. Leeches, mosquitoes, and a high likelihood of landslides and slick roadways are additional issues brought on by the rainy season. However, this is the time of day when animals are active. The monsoon season is ideal for you if you are a serious biologist. The greatest seasons for hikers are spring and autumn.

    • Spring Season (Months of March, April, and May)

Due to the beautiful skies and sunny days, this is the busiest time of year for trekking in Nepal. Even though the weather will frequently be pleasant, higher elevations may have cold mornings and evenings. In the spring, there is no rain and the sky is often clear. At this time of year, there is an especially large amount of vegetation. Rhododendrons, Nepal's national flower, grow well at lower elevations and are very beautiful. Pine trees at lower elevations will have a relaxing scent, while other wildflowers will have a variety of colors.

    • Autumn Season (Months of September, October, and November)

Another very popular time of year for hiking in the Annapurna region is autumn. There will be more hikers on the trails due to the wonderful weather and spectacular scenery, and housing will be in high demand. The crew is overworked since the busiest hiking season and festival season coincide. Do bear this in mind as you prepare for your trip. On the other side, you could enjoy the upbeat vibe of the route and Pokhara.

Food or Meal Availability on ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal

When you take part in the Annapurna Base Camp with Poonhill and Mardi Trek, you may taste traditional Nepalese food in addition to dishes from prominent world cuisines including Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc. Breakfast and supper will be served at the teahouses where you spend the night, while lunch will be served while you travel to your next destination. All meals will be provided while hiking, however, in Kathmandu and Pokhara, just breakfast will be provided.

The breakfast menu you could enjoy while trekking includes Common Tibetan Bread, Chapati, French toast, Corn Flakes, Hash Browns, fried, scrambled, and boiled eggs, pancakes, porridge, Muesli, vegetable dishes, and other hot beverages.

You may choose from a range of lunch selections, including thukpa (noodle soup), dal and bhat, momos (dumplings), Tibetan chapati bread, macaroni, spaghetti, sherpa stew, steaks, potatoes, sandwiches, rice with curry, spring rolls, burgers, and pizza, as well as yak steak and desserts.

Dinner options include Momos (dumplings), Thukpa (noodle soup), Dal and Bhat, Chapati, Macaroni, Spaghetti, Sherpa Stew, a variety of soups, steaks, potatoes dishes, Sandwiches, Pizza, rice with curry, spring rolls, Raman soups, burgers and Pizza, yak steak, dessert items, and hot and cold drinks.

Accommodation Facility on ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal

The Annapurna region of Nepal is a well-liked trekking trail. You don't need to pack any tents because there are several tea houses and lodges available along the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poonhill with the Mardi Himal Route. The accommodations in this region feature twin-sharing and are modest yet decent. The company promises that during your 17-day hiking vacation, you will stay in the nicest tea houses currently available. Although you shouldn't anticipate them everywhere, the rooms frequently come in double occupancy with a wooden bed, blankets, mattresses, cushions, and attached bathrooms in most of the sites. Apart from Deurali and Annapurna Base Camp, solitary rooms can also be ordered and are accessible in this region. Single rooms are simple to find in Kathmandu and the hiking areas at lower altitudes, but it could be difficult to find them at higher altitudes.

ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal Difficulty Level

The fairly difficult ABC and Mardi Himal Trek through Poon Hill may be completed by anyone by moving slowly and gradually. This walk is moderately challenging, and it doesn't demand very advanced levels of physical fitness. Everyone will take pleasure in wandering around the environment on this adventure. Parents who bring their children along may find this stroll to be entertaining. You will climb over stone stairs, travel daily distances of 5 to 6 hours, and traverse through rugged, hilly terrain on this hike. But if you have the required levels of patience, confidence, and physical condition, you may easily finish this trek. By hiking to Annapurna Base Camp through Ghorepani, you can help your body get used to the high altitude. Additionally, it aids in maintaining better physical health so you may perform strenuous aerobic walks in the open air. Those who have prior trekking experience and are physically fit may finish the trek quickly. At Mardi Base Camp, you will reach a height of 4500 meters above sea level.

ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal Travel Insurance

Because ABC Trek with Poonhill and Mardi Himal is held at a high elevation of more than 4000 meters above sea level, there is little risk of altitude sickness and other unexpected conditions, such as landslides. So, to participate in the Mardi Himal Trek with ABC via Poon Hill, travel insurance is mandatory. All hikers are expected to give Green Valley Nepal Treks a copy of their whole insurance coverage before starting this trek. The expense of high-altitude helicopter rescue and evacuation, as well as medical and emergency repatriation, must be covered by the insurance policy. In an emergency, we will undertake a quick and effective rescue using your insurance policy and other documentation. At the maximum hike heights up to 5000 meters, please make sure that the insurance provider covers both medical expenditures and mountain rescue fees.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies during ABC Trek with Poon Hill and Mardi Himal

The inability of the body to adjust to the low levels of oxygen and high atmospheric pressure found in high-altitude mountains can result in altitude sickness. Acute mountain sickness is another name for it, which is common among trekkers and mountaineers. After 3000 meters of elevation, the oxygen level starts to decline. Altitude sickness can therefore impact hikers who are ascending from lower elevations at heights above 3000 meters. Acute Mountain Sickness symptoms include headaches, fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath, dizziness, inability to fall asleep or difficulty falling asleep, loss of appetite, and others. Consider the following recommendations to prevent altitude sickness when trekking to Annapurna Base Camp via Poonhill with Mardi:

    • Keep yourself hydrated when hiking and stay away from alcohol because it dehydrates you.
    • Maintain a healthy diet throughout the trip.
    • Diamox, the most effective medicine for altitude sickness, should be brought along on the hike.
    • Don't hurry when hiking to a high altitude. You ought to walk carefully and slowly.
    • Before hiking at an elevation of more than 3,000 meters, acclimate appropriately.
    • If your body reveals any symptoms of altitude sickness, you must either stop immediately or lower some elevation.
    • Keeping yourself clean may also help you avoid altitude sickness.

      Good, Memorable Experience

There are so many trekking agencies. Difficult to choose the best one. The one that is reliable, honest, good for the guides, professional, communicates quickly, doesn't overcharge and gives quality. In the end I did a trekking (ABC and Poonhill) for 10 days with Green Valley Nepal Treks and I am super satisfied with that choice. The agency is/does everything that I mentioned above.

Everything was good organized. The jacket, sleeping bag, English speaking guide, the permit, transportation, teahouses and the food and drinks. Before the trekking I talked with the agency about some flexibility in the schedule. In the beginning the guide was a bit too careful (in my opinion), but you can also call that professional. I was happy though that we went quicker in the end and could also do a part of Mardi Himal. After I came back from the trek I passed by at the office and had a drink and chat about how the trip went. Nice to see how open for feedback the agency is. They really want you to have a good, memorable experience. For me that definitely worked out, thank you for that!

ABC Trek with Mardi Himal via Poon Hill journey with Best Trekking Company

ABC Trek with Mardi Himal via Poon Hill journey was undoubtedly once in a lifetime. The scenery and vistas in the Himalayas are just incredible. The meal was excellent, and the Nepali people and culture are so welcoming and lovely. The tea houses were all so warm and inviting, each with its unique personality. The schedule seemed ideal; it was difficult enough for you to feel proud of yourself for finishing each day but not so hard that you felt overwhelmed. But most importantly, our team was outstanding! We six travelers connected on a soul level. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Arjun and the entire Green Valley Nepal Treks team for being an incredible group of friends and leaders.

    FAQs
    • Yes, trekkers must have registered the following trekking permits:

      • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
      • TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System)
    • Rhododendron woodlands and beautiful terraced paddy fields are only a couple of the flora and animals that may be seen throughout the entire hiking trail. The journey is noteworthy because of the breathtaking views from Poon Hill, Mardi Himal Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and the towns of Landruk, Ghandruk, and Siding.

    • There is electricity in every teahouse where you will spend the night. You may recharge your smartphones, cameras, and iPads using solar and micro-hydropower systems for a little price. There are no open hotspots for internet connectivity along the hiking trail. While some teahouses do provide paid Wi-Fi services on an hourly basis, don't expect high-speed internet on the remote paths.

    • Mineral water bottles may be purchased from stores positioned beside the trails as one way to obtain water. Bringing reusable water bottles and other water purification tools with you is another approach to clean tap or stream water before consuming. Water bottles may be refilled at the teahouses and several streams and rivers that along the walk. When you're at your lodge, we advise you to only consume boiled water. The price of bottled water rises as you go higher up, so those who insist on just drinking mineral water should be ready to pay a little bit more.

    • When compared to the best hotel or resort in a city, the accommodations are modest. Simple furniture such as single, double, triple, twin, etc. can be found in the room. There will be mattresses, coverings, and other furnishings on the beds. There are also communal restrooms and bathrooms. Shampoo, soap, a towel, and toilet paper are necessities. WI-FI is extra and costs money.

    • Only the urban regions of Nepal, including Kathmandu and Pokhara, accept credit cards. Credit cards are not accepted when you enter the hiking area. You must thus have adequate cash on hand.

    • In most cases, the trip leader will assist and support you to descend to a lower altitude if you fall ill. We will set up an emergency helicopter evacuation service if you are critically ill or hurt. Depending on the scenario in the mountains, our guide will respond right away. Ensure that you have travel insurance that includes coverage for both high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation services.

    • We will provide one porter for every two trekkers, depending on the size of the group. Throughout the walk, the porter will carry 12 to 15 kg of baggage per person. You must carry your daypack to store your personal items, such as your wallet, camera, water bottle, dry food, headlamp, and other electronics. Please only carry items that are absolutely necessary.

    • Technically, AMS cannot be stopped, but you may definitely avoid it by carefully considering the following advice:

      • You need to drink at least 4 liters of water every day to keep your body hydrated.
      • Avoid drinking alcohol, smoking, and caffeine, which are the main causes of headaches and dehydration.
      • Give yourself plenty of time to adjust to the higher altitude.
      • To avoid and reduce the symptoms of altitude sickness, use Diamox, an over-the-counter medication.
    • The free storage is offered by the hotel in Kathmandu. Thus, you may leave all of your belongings that are not necessary for the walk at your hotel or in our office.
