Along the way, you will be rewarded with close-up views of iconic peaks such as Annapurna I (8,091 m / 26,545 ft), Annapurna South (7,219 m / 23,684 ft), Hiunchuli (6,441 m / 21,132 ft), Machhapuchhre or Fishtail (6,993 m / 22,943 ft), and Gangapurna (7,455 m / 24,457 ft).

The trail passes through Gurung and Magar villages, such as Chomrong and Sinuwa, where you can observe traditional lifestyles, stone-built houses, prayer flags, and monasteries. One of the major highlights of this trek is the natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda, offering a relaxing experience after days of trekking.

ABC Trek from Pokhara is achievable for trekkers with moderate fitness while still reaching above 4,000 meters. The constant change in landscape from terraced farmlands and lush rhododendron forests to alpine terrain and glacial moraines keeps each day interesting.

The well-established teahouse infrastructure ensures comfortable accommodation and warm meals, making the trek suitable even for first-time trekkers to Nepal. The cultural interaction with local communities, combined with the dramatic setting of the Annapurna Sanctuary, creates a meaningful and memorable journey that goes beyond just walking trails.

ABC Trek begins in Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city known as the gateway to the Annapurna region. On Day 1, you will enjoy a scenic drive from Pokhara to Jhinu Danda. From Jhinu, the trail gradually ascends through forests and villages to reach Chomrong, a beautiful Gurung settlement with impressive views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Day 2 takes you from Chomrong down to the Chomrong Khola and then steadily uphill through bamboo and rhododendron forests to reach Dovan. This section introduces you to a quieter, more alpine environment as the trail enters the inner sanctuary.

On Day 3, the trail ascends from Dovan to Deurali, passing through narrow valleys, waterfalls, and glacial streams. The air becomes cooler and thinner, and the surrounding peaks feel closer with every step.

Day 4 is the most anticipated day of the trek, as you will walk from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp, passing Machhapuchhre Base Camp along the way. Reaching Annapurna Base Camp is a powerful experience, standing in the heart of the sanctuary surrounded by snow-covered peaks.

Day 5 begins the descent, trekking from Annapurna Base Camp down to Sinuwa, allowing you to enjoy familiar landscapes from a new perspective. On Day 6, the trail continues down to Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in the natural hot springs before driving back to Pokhara, officially concluding the trek.

The best time to participate in the ABC Trek from Pokhara is during the spring season from March to May and the autumn season from September to November. Spring offers blooming rhododendron forests and clear mountain views, while autumn provides stable weather and excellent visibility.

It is suitable for trekkers aged approximately 12 to 65 years, provided they are in good health and have a reasonable level of fitness. Prior trekking experience is helpful but not mandatory.
