EBC Tour from Tibet is an eight-day journey that begins and ends in Lhasa with a visit to the Everest Base Camp. The journey commences with a flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. A train or plane from Beijing, Shanghai, or Chengdu to Lhasa is also available. You can explore places like Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. Some of the largest Buddhist monasteries in the world that were built centuries ago lie in Tibet like Sera, Drepung, and Tashilungpo which are still well preserved. Lhasa sightseeing is incomplete without visiting the Potala palace, the former dwelling place of the Dalai Lama. The drive to Gyantse passing over Khamba La Pass and Yamdrok Lake to visit Gyantse Kumbum monastery is equally enthralling. Shigatse is well known for Tahilhumpo Monastery (3900m), and we move further to Shegar, then to Rongbuk, and eventually reach the Everest Base Camp.

The Everest Base Camp tour can be started with a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa observing all the beautiful scenic mountain views like Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Everest, Mt Makalu et cetera. Our airport representative will give you a warm welcome and arrange for your flight or you can choose a train or plane from Beijing, Shanghai, or Chengdu and commence your journey to Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival at Gonkar airport, our official English-speaking Tibetan guide will welcome and accompany you to Lhasa city. Your exciting journey to the Base Camp begins from here. You can freshen up and rest for the night in the hotel and prepare to commence your journey the next morning.

     Your day will begin with Lhasa sightseeing. After breakfast, the tour of Lhasa is scheduled starting from Jokhang Temple to Barkhor Street to Drepung monastery where you will get a chance to visit the most beautiful historical, cultural, and religious sites. Rich in typical artifacts of Tibetan Buddhism, the well-executed Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Drepung monastery have been preserved for centuries yet their beauty remains untarnished.

       Lhasa sightseeing trip to Tibet EBC would remain incomplete without wandering around the famous Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa's distinctive landmark and is an outstanding piece of Eastern architecture. The palace came to be known in the fifth-sixth century and was once a living place of the Dalai Lama. After visiting this marvel we will drive to another amusing place called Sera Monastery. Overnight stay in the hotel

        After breakfast, we tour another oldest cities of Tibet. From Lhasa, the drive to Gyantse (3950m, 261 km) passes by Khamba La Pass and Yamdrok Lake. After visiting the Gyantse Kumbum monastery, the drive continues to Shigatse, where you can visit Tahilhumpo Monastery (3900m). A drive back to the hotel where you stay overnight.

          From Shigatse, the tour heads towards Shegar (New Tingri). The sightseeing to experience rich Tibetan cultural inheritance is scheduled after breakfast. We drive along the Friendship Highway which surely entraps you with the magnificent beauty of the Tibetan plateau. Along the way, we also come across the highest pass, Gyamtso La, and get enthralled by its scenic view as well as the numerous nomadic herders that pass by. The night’s rest and relaxation are in a very comfortable Hotel Quomolongma.

            Early in the morning, we leave Shegar (4050m) and pass by the Pang La pass from where a panoramic view of the Himalayas is amazing. You can also spot Mt Everest which everyone is fascinated by. Along with it, you can enjoy the marvelous surroundings of the Everest Base Camp. From Rongbuk, we continue our journey to Everest Base Camp and explore around to return back again to Rongbuk where we stay overnight at a hotel.

              Rent a horse cart or walk to Everest BC and explore around – back to Rongbuk – Drive back to Nyalam by over-crossing the high pass of lulang La (5,050m) from where one can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Xishapagma (8,212m) & Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m) and have overnight at Nyalam Guest House. 

                The last day of your Everest Base Camp Tour from Tibet. After breakfast, we drive through Zhangmu to Kodari Tibet - Nepal border. Our Tibetan guide and driver will come to see you off and then you will meet your Nepali guide who will help you with the immigration formalities. After that, you will be driven back to Kathmandu in about 5-6 hours and will be dropped back at your hotel. A drop at the airport is arranged on a private tourist vehicle as required. You can also extend your stay and join Green Valley Nepal Treks’ next program.
