Trip Highlight

Mountain views get unmistakably exuberant at each viewpoint. The crystal blue Gosainkunda lake and its periphery gives a mystical feel to the trek while Laurebina La Pass is credited with stunning views of peaks like Manaslu, Langtang and Ganesh. The hospitable villages are typically influenced by Tibetan traditions. Massive changes in vegetation from evergreens to coniferous can be observed.

Langtang Gosaikunda Lauribina Pass Trek is a spectacular journey exploring Langtangs hidden valleys, the holy Gosainkunda lake and Langtang National Park. Majestic mountain vistas, amazing landscape, tribal Tamang communities, high passes and viewpoints all add up to this adventurous cum exotic journey. Variance in altitude during along the trail gives rise to change in climate patterns, vegetation and lifestyle adding a distinct flavor this classic trekking route.

An early bus ride to Syabru Besi marks the beginning of the trek. From Syabru Besi, the trail takes a gentle ascent along the Langtang River and passes through settlements, lush green hills and farmlands that gradually changes into oak and maple forests Langtang village approaches. At Kyanjin gumpa, we rest for acclimatization and exploration Kyanjin Ri of Chorkari Ri, both offering great mountain vistas. We then descend to the Lama Hotel and stay at the guesthouse for the night. Moving gradually through Thulo Syabru and Sing Gompa and passing massifs of Ganesh, Annapurna and Tibetan peaks we reach the holy Gosainkunda area. Crossing the scenic Laurebina La Pass, we descend to Gopte and take rest for the night. The next day, we pass small streams and rhododendron and pine forests and rest at Kutumsang. The wavy trail leads to Chisapani and further to Sundarijal from where we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 :Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu

Day 2 :Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1610m) by Bus. 7 hours driving. O/N at guest house

Day 3 :Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2480 m.), 5 – 6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 4 :Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3541 m.) 4-5 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 5 :Trek from Langtang village to Kyangjin Gompa (3900 m.), 2 -3 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 6 :Hiking up to Chorkari ri(5050m) and back to Kyangjn Gompa. 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 7 :Trek down to Lama hotel (2480 m.) 5 - 6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 8 :Trek from Lama hotel to Thulo Syabru (2200 m.) 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 9 :Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3580 m.) 5 - 6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 10 :Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda (4381 m.). 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 11 :Cross over the Lauribina pass (4600 m.) descend to Ghopte (3420 m.) 6 -7 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 12 :Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2540m) 5 -7 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 13 :Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani (2110m) 6 - 7 hours, O/N at guest house

Day 14 :Trek from Chisopani to Sundari jal and drive by car to Kathmandu for half an hour. 4 - 5 hours

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 :Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) KathmanduArrival in Kathmandu. Our Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A drop to the Hotel by private tourist vehicle is arranged. You can either take a rest or meet us at our office and know the detail arrangement of the Trek. B&B at the hotel.

Day 2 :Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1610m) by Bus. 7 hours driving. O/N at guest house An early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around eight hours and passes through rural lowland villages where you can observe the procession of an ordinary day. Scenic views of mountains and stretches of rolling hills also accompany you. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 3 :Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2480 m.), 5 – 6 hours, O/N at guest house The trek to Lama Hotel is mostly along the Langtang River. After crossing a suspension bridge, we pass a stream. The walk continues along forests of Bamboo, Rhododendron and other alpine trees. It’s an easy walk despite the wavy nature of the trail. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.

Day 4 :Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3541 m.) 4-5 hours, O/N at guest houseAfter breakfast, we move on through a trail along dense forests that ascends to Ghora Tabela. Views of Langtang Ri and the Langtang Village are magnificent from here. As we move to the Langtang Village, prayer flags, chortens and water mills welcome us. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 5 :Trek from Langtang village to Kyangjin Gompa (3900 m.), 2 -3 hours, O/N at guest houseLeaving the village after breakfast, we move on through high pasture lands where yaks graze. Walking alongside the mani walls and across wooden bridges, the gain in elevation can be felt with the thinning air as we reach Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight stay in a lodge.

Day 6 :Hiking up to Chorkari ri(5050m) and back to Kyangjn Gompa. 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest houseIt’s a day set for exploration. Besides exploring the periphery of the Gompa, a hike to Chorkari Ri is scheduled for the daytime. Chorkari Ri (5050m) provides an outstanding view of the mountain ranges and the hills and valleys below. Overnight stay at the guest house.

Day 7 :Trek down to Lama hotel (2480 m.) 5 - 6 hours, O/N at guest houseWe descend to the Lama hotel today. It’s an easy downhill walk, less strenuous due to the lowering of altitude as well. Mountain views accompany us through the journey and we pass small settlements on the way. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 8 :Trek from Lama hotel to Thulo Syabru (2200 m.) 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest houseThe trail takes on a ups and downs along forests, hillsides and terrace fields. First we walk downhill to Pahare hotel, and then climb through a forest route and later through terrace farms to Thulo Syabru. Thulo Syabru is a scenic village with outstanding mountain views where we stay overnight in a guest house.

Day 9 :Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3580 m.) 5 - 6 hours, O/N at guest houseToday’s walk passes through Dursagang and Foprang Danda where scenic views of the beautiful landscape and panoramic mountain views. The massifs of Langtang, Ganesh and Annapurna form a gigantic chain as we move further to Sing Gompa. Near the monastery, there is a cheese factory and a small settlement. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
The trail passes Rhododendron, oak and fir forests as we move on through Dursagang and Foprang Danda. Views of Himalayan ranges that includes Langtang, Ganesh, Annapurna and some Tibetan peaks are panoramic at several points. It’s a five hour trek to Chandanbari, where you can explore the local Cheese factory and the Sing Gompa monastery nearby. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 10 :Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda (4381 m.). 5 -6 hours, O/N at guest houseFrom Sing Gompa, we move down to the nearby Chandanbari and take the easy trail to Lauribinayak. A gradual steep from here leads us to Gosaikunda. The entrance is marked by chortens and small Shiva temples. Outstanding views of Ganesh, Annapurna and other Tibetan ranges can be observed. The holy lake of Gosaikunda lies just nearby along with two others. Mountains and lakes for a scenic view around the place. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 11 :Cross over the Lauribina pass (4600 m.) descend to Ghopte (3420 m.) 6 -7 hours, O/N at guest houseAfter an early breakfast, we commence on our journey to the Laurebina pass (4600m) from where views of Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang Lirung form a spectacular chain. Today’s walk is the longest in the entire trek. After a steep descent from the pass, we reach Phedi. The easy trail then takes us to Ghopte where we stay overnight.

Day 12 :Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2540m) 5 -7 hours, O/N at guest houseFrom Ghopte, we take a pleasant walk through small streams. The wavy trail through rolling hills passes pine and rhododendron forests and leads to Therapati which is situated on the ridge of a scenic valley. We meet the Helambu trail here, which can be followed if we have several days to spare. We pass through forest areas to reach Mangenghoth and further to Kutumsang. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 13 :Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani (2110m) 6 - 7 hours, O/N at guest houseToday’s walk through the rolling hills begins ascending to a ridge, then down to Gul Bhanjyang, climb to Thodang and descend to Cipling where we rest and take our lunch. Again we descend to Thankune Bhanjyang and take an easy walk to Pati Bhanjyang. A steep drop from here takes us to Chisapani. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 14 :Trek from Chisopani to Sundari jal and drive by car to Kathmandu for half an hour. 4 - 5 hours It’s a four hour hike from Chisapani to Sundarijal. The walk is pleasant and scenic, mostly descending or plain. Through the Shivapuri National Park, we walk past forest areas through Borlang Bhanjyang down to Mulkharka. Passing green forests and small valleys, we descend further to Sundarijal. This marks the end of the trek. A one hour drive takes us back to Kathmandu.

Day 15 :Final Departure or onward for next program Departure from Kathmandu. A drop from the hotel to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of flight is arranged in a private tourist vehicle. You can also opt for another package with us and move towards the next destination.
