A low altitude trek that can be taken by anyone, Helambu Circuit Trek is also renowned for exploration of rural life, especially the Hyalmo and their traditional lifestyle influenced by Tibetan culture. Panoramic views of the Himalayas combined with great landscape and flora and fauna along the national park adds to a pleasurable journey.
Helambu Circuit Trekking is an easy trek that offers panoramic views of the Himalayas along with exploration of the rural Nepalese culture and lifestyle. This low altitude trek is a relaxing nature walk and crosses path with Langtang National Park, a conserved area with rare variety of flora and fauna. The route passes through evergreen forests and remote isolated Sherpa villages making it suitable for those who prefer nature walks at low altitude and have limited time.
After a short drive to Sundarijal in the early morning, the trek starts with a walk along the Shivapuri National Park to Chisa Pani. Chisa Pani is a preferred viewpoint for campers, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan range. The next days walk is through pine plantations leading to the habitation of Brahmin and Chettri people, the low land dwellers. Further on, the trail passes through Gul Bhanjyang and eventually to Melamchi Gaon. From Melamchi Gaon, we move through pine and rhododendron forests to Sarmathang and descent to Melamchi Pul Bazaar the next day. The drive back to Kathmandu from here marks the end of the trek.

Day 2 :Drive to Sundarijal & then trek to Chisa Pani Alt. 2,300m. (6 hrs)
Day 3 :Trek Chisa Pani - Gul Bhanjyang Alt. 2,140m. (5 hrs)
Day 4 :Trek Gul Bhanjyang - Melamchi Gaun Alt. 2,530m. (6 hrs)
Day 5 :Trek Melamchi Gaun - Sarmathang Alt. 2,590m. (6 hrs)
Day 6 :Trek Sarmathang - Melamchi Pul Bazaar Alt. 830m. (5 hrs)
Day 7 :Drive Melamchi Pul Bazaar - Kathmandu Alt. 1,350m. (4 hrs)

Day 1 :Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) KathmanduArrival in Kathmandu. Our Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A drop to the Hotel by private tourist vehicle is arranged. You can either take a rest or meet us at our office and know the detail arrangement of the Trek. B&B at the hotel.
Day 2 :Drive to Sundarijal & then trek to Chisa Pani Alt. 2,300m. (6 hrs)Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal which takes around one hour. The trek starts from this beautiful place with clear streams and lush forests to accompany you through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. Mulkharka, the first settlement along the trail is inhabited by the Tamang community. Forests of oak and Rhododendron cover the trail that passes through a ridge leading to Chisapani. Overnight stay at a Guest house.
Day 3 :Trek Chisa Pani - Gul Bhanjyang Alt. 2,140m. (5 hrs)Panoramic mountain views along with mesmerizing sunrise starts our day. The route descends to the village of Pati Bhanjyang, occupied by Brahmin and Chhetri people. A gentle walk continues to ascend through forests and villages to reach the farming village - Gulbhanjyang, inhabited by Tamangs.
Day 4 :Trek Gul Bhanjyang - Melamchi Gaun Alt. 2,530m. (6 hrs) Moving towards Therapati, the trail passes forests of pine and oak and gives excellent glimpses of snow peaks like Langtang and Goshainkunda. A short way from Therapati we cross rhododendron and fir forests rich in birds and wildlife, and hear a river flowing below. This marks the appearance of Melamchi Gaun where we stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 5 :Trek Melamchi Gaun - Sarmathang Alt. 2,590m. (6 hrs)We follow the trail through a beautiful valley and reach Tarkeghyang, inhabited by the Sherpas and rich in traditional Gompas. From here, an easy path leads to Sarmathang. Views of Ganesh, Langtang, Rolwaling et cetera form a panorama on a clear day. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 6 :Trek Sarmathang - Melamchi Pul Bazaar Alt. 830m. (5 hrs)After meal at Sermathang, our last remote village, we descend towards the village of Kakani which is perched on top of a hill. Upon descending further, we reach Dubachaur, another small village from where we walk past paddy fields and alongside the Indrawati River. We cross the river to reach Melamchi Pul Bazaar, a small town popular for delicious fish from the local river. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 7 :Drive Melamchi Pul Bazaar - Kathmandu Alt. 1,350m. (4 hrs)From Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu is a five hours drive through small villages before entering the busy Kathmandu valley. You can use the day to rest or explore around the valley. An evening dinner courtesy Green Valley Nepal Treks to celebrate the completion of your trek.
Day 8 :Departure from Kathmandu to your onward destination.Departure from Kathmandu. A drop from the hotel to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of flight is arranged in a private tourist vehicle. You can also opt for another package with us and move towards the next destination.
