Langtang Valley Trek is also known as Glacial Trek due to the presence of numerous glaciers along the trail. Viewpoints and passes offer excellent mountain vistas and passes through ethnic villages of the Tamang. The trail passes through lush forests, and is rich for bird watching. Rhododendron hills, monasteries and prayer flags also form formidable marks along the way.
Langtang Valley Trekking is popular for scenic views of snowcapped mountain ranges and dangerous yet attractive glaciers. The valley of Langtang lies 30 kilometers north of Kathmandu. Easily accessible, yet offering varied vegetation and wildlife, the trail passes through ethnic Tamang villages that are welcoming and hospitable.
Langtang Valley Trekking commences from Sybrubeshi. The trail passes through Rhododendron forests and varied flora and fauna and through lowland villages to Lama Hotel and further on leads to the Langtang Valley. Moving on to Kyanjin Gompa, a short walk from the village, we spend the day exploring the valley. The next day, we take a short hike to Tsergo Ri bestows us with exotic views of Langtang massif. After exploration of the Langtang village we climb to Ghora Tabela from where the view of the valley and the surrounding snowcapped mountains are magnificent. From here we then move to Shabrubeshi and then take a bus to Kathmandu.
Day 1 :Upon arrival in Kathmandu international airport, transfer to the hotel
Day 2 :Kathmandu to Shabrubeshi (1460m). 7h scenic drive. Overnight at Guest House
Day 3 :Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2560m). Overnight at Guest House
Day 4 :Lama Hotel to Langtang valley(3455m). Overnight at Guest House
Day 5 :Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3817m). Overnight at Guest House
Day 6 :Explore around the Kyanjin Gompa. Morning climb to Tsergo Ri (4983m). Overnight at Guest House
Day 7 :Kyanjin Gompa to Ghodatabela(3020m). Overnight at lodge
Day 8 :Ghodatabela to Shabrubeshi. O/n at lodge
Day 9 :Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu (by bus.) O/n at standard hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10 :Transfer to the Kathmandu international airport or onward for next program
Day 1 :Upon arrival in Kathmandu international airport, transfer to the hotelArrival in Kathmandu. Our Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A drop to the Hotel by private tourist vehicle is arranged. You can either take a rest or meet us at our office and know the detail arrangement of the Trek. B&B at the hotel.
Day 2 :Kathmandu to Shabrubeshi (1460m). 7h scenic drive. Overnight at Guest HouseAn early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around eight hours and passes through rural lowland villages where you can observe the procession of an ordinary day. Scenic views of mountains and stretches of rolling hills also accompany you. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 3 :Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2560m). Overnight at Guest HouseThe trek to Lama Hotel is mostly along the Langtang River. After crossing a suspension bridge, we pass a stream. The walk continues along forests of Bamboo, Rhododendron and other alpine trees. It’s an easy walk despite the wavy nature of the trail. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
Day 4 :Lama Hotel to Langtang valley(3455m). Overnight at Guest HouseAfter breakfast, we move on through a trail along dense forests that ascends to Ghora Tabela. Views of Langtang Ri and the Langtang Village are magnificent from here. As we move to the Langtang Village, prayer flags, chortens and water mills welcome us. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 5 :Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3817m). Overnight at Guest HouseLeaving the village after breakfast, we move on through high pasture lands where yaks graze. Walking alongside the mani walls and across wooden bridges, the gain in elevation can be felt with the thinning air as we reach Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 6 :Explore around the Kyanjin Gompa. Morning climb to Tsergo Ri (4983m). Overnight at Guest HouseIt’s a day set for acclimatization. Sitting idle is not recommended though, and a hike to Tsergo Ri is scheduled in the morning. Incredible views of Langtang range meets the eyes at the elevation. After returning back, you can explore around Kyanjing Gompa which is the last settlement area for some days.
Day 7 :Kyanjin Gompa to Ghodatabela(3020m). Overnight at lodgeWe walk past scenic trails to get back to Ghodatabela. The route is mostly a descent and an easy and pleasant walk. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 8 :Ghodatabela to Shabrubeshi. O/n at lodgeFurther descending to Shabrubeshi, we take the same route through Lama Hotel and Bamboo. Thick bamboo and rhododendron forests pass along the way. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 9 :Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu (by bus.) O/n at standard hotel in Kathmandu.It’s a scenic drive from Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu. The journey takes over eight hours and passes small rural settlements which thickens once entering the periphery of Kathmandu. To celebrate the successful completion of the journey, Green Valley Nepal Treks has scheduled a dinner in a Nepali restaurant. You can also stroll around Thamel, or head on for souvenir shopping in your free time.
Day 10 :Transfer to the Kathmandu international airport or onward for next program Departure from Kathmandu. A drop from the hotel to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of flight is arranged in a private tourist vehicle. You can also opt for another package with us and move towards the next destination.
