Useful Info

9 Days Short Everest Base Camp Trek Best Time, Season, Months

In Nepal, the optimum times for an Everest Short Trek are said to be in the autumn and spring. Autumn is characterized by bright skies without haze or clouds throughout September, October, and November, which makes it the perfect time of year for breathtaking mountain views. Rhododendrons in bloom throughout the dry spring months of March, April, and May add to the ambiance of the Khumbu region.

While it is feasible to go on a hike in the months of December, January, and February, the weather is extremely chilly, with declines of -30 degrees Celsius at night. Snowfalls that make the route slick are another possibility. Because of the extreme weather fluctuations on the mountain, the monsoon season in June, July, and August is the least favorable period to hike in Everest. There is a significant possibility of rainfall and snow, which will make hiking challenging and may cause flight cancellations from and to Lukla.

Therefore, autumn and spring are the finest seasons for a Short Trip to Everest Base Camp when taking into account the weather, temperature, scenery, and easiness of the trek.

Food and Meal Availability on Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek

The meals and food served on the Everest Short Trekking in the Khumbu area are excellent. On the whole walk, there are skilled cooks in every settlement. You may select the food you want for breakfast, lunch, or dinner from the menu. There are several options for both regional and international cuisine. Pizza, fried noodles, fried rice, different kinds of potatoes, Swiss roast, spaghetti, and of course Dal Bhat are some of the most popular menu items. Each teahouse provides water, beer, cold drinks, coffee, tea, and other alcoholic beverages. Despite this, it is not advised to drink alcohol after Namche Bazaar because of the adverse effects it may have on your body at such a high altitude. There are fantastic cafés to enjoy a croissant and a hot cup of coffee in Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche.

Accommodation Facility on Quick Everest Base Camp Trek

We will put you up in a fantastic 3-star hotel while you are in Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, there are many excellent alternatives, ranging from budget-friendly to opulent. However, while on the hike in the Everest region, you will stay in a simple tea house. A teahouse trek is the Short Everest Base Camp Trek. As a result, the trail is lined with simple yet delicious tea establishments. The majority of the expedition's evenings will be spent in teahouses. Both single and shared accommodations will be in simple rooms. There will be soft blankets, pillows, and linens in the beds. Keep in mind that as you ascend, teahouses get more sparse and primitive.

Short Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty Level

It is considered a moderate to challenging journey to complete the Mount Everest Base Camp Short Trek in 9 Days. The Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty Level is influenced by a lot of variables, including your level of physical fitness, the number of trekking days, the route, and the season of the trek. 120 kilometers separate Lukla from Everest Base Camp and return on the trek route. Basically, you will have to walk for 4 to 7 hours every day for 9 days. Throughout the journey, you will have to cross several plain and rugged terrains.

The highest elevation of the Quick Everest Base Camp Trek is Kala Patthar at 5555 meters above sea level. The oxygen level gradually decreases over 3000 meters in elevation, making it more likely that someone would experience altitude sickness if their body is unable to adapt to the shift in air pressure. Headache, nausea, and vomiting are examples of symptoms. This brief route doesn't include any rest or acclimatization days, making it suitable for experienced trekkers only. Exercise, keeping physical health, and carefully following the Everest Base Camp Short Trekking Itinerary and guidance will thus help you avoid any problems you could encounter on the journey.

Everest Short Trek Travel Insurance

Before embarking on a Short Everest Base Camp Trek, we firmly advise getting travel insurance. Although we try our best to look after you, unexpected things sometimes happen. It is best to obtain insurance in case of a medical emergency necessitating a helicopter evacuation. You must get medical insurance in your home country as you are unable to do so in Nepal. Make sure your insurance covers accidents overseas and at high-altitude.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies during Short Trek to Everest Base Camp

While hiking around the world's tallest peak, you need to take some safety precautions. The risk of high altitude sickness is quite serious while undertaking the Everest Short Trek. You should practice appropriate acclimatization by rising gently, drinking enough fluids, avoiding alcohol, and quitting smoking before starting your journey. To avoid high altitude sickness, some hikers take Acetazolamide (Diamox), which will aid in your body's proper acclimatization. Above 3,000 meters in elevation, the preventive dosage is 125 mg taken two or three times each day. If symptoms such as a headache, nausea, lack of appetite, trouble falling asleep, weariness, dizziness, or lightheadedness arise, raise the dose to 250 mg twice or three times daily. When symptoms of high altitude sickness become severe, you should descend right away, if required with assistance, a porter, or guide.

Everest Short Trekking Packing List, Gears, Equipment

Although there are several stores in Kathmandu where you may buy and rent trekking-related goods, we strongly urge that you carry all of your clothing and equipment from your residence. The following are some of the main suggestions:

  • -20 degree sleeping bag ( having a sleeping bag liner is useful if you do trek more high altitude)

    Impressive Everest Short Trekking

Green Valley Nepal Treks' management of Everest Short Trekking and approach to customer service impressed me. They provide the best possible service. Our walk was efficiently planned, and our guide, who was always incredibly helpful, compassionate, resourceful, and insightful, immediately found solutions to any issues. The parts of this journey that involved waiting for the aircraft to Lukla and being close to the airport's landing zone were incredibly exciting. The walk began at Lukla, passing through a number of Sherpa settlements while providing breathtaking views of the Himalayas. We were amazed at how swiftly and easily our guide can handle any problem when he was able to secure our tickets for flights to Lukla. This firm has everything meticulously planned out that is needed for a trip over the Himalayas. I salute this group.

FAQs
  • Mountain sickness is always a possibility on the Everest Short Trek. You will reach 5555 meters at Kala Patthar on this high-altitude hike. Altitude sickness is a pretty common occurrence when you exceed 3000 meters in elevation. To avoid it, extreme caution is required.

  • You are welcome to leave your additional equipment at the hotel. Your possessions are secure with them. And after the hike, you can get them back. Or, we can keep your belongings secure in our office.

  • In Nepal, international visitors are required to have travel insurance. Trekking permits to Everest Base Camp cannot be obtained without insurance. Therefore, purchase trek-related emergency travel insurance. Not all insurance policies provide 6000m. Don't forget to cover.

  • Yes, the vast majority of tea houses are powered by electricity. Others have solar panels as an option. You may find charging stations in each of these areas without any delay.

  • Yes, during the peak seasons of autumn and spring, everything becomes too congested. In this situation, you might need to make reservations in advance since we need to arrange everything, including the flights and lodging.

The daily limit withdrawal from these ATMs is typically 25,000 rupees (or around USD 215).
