    Useful Info

Best Time and season to do short ABC Trek:

The best time to go on the short ABC Trek depends on your preference for weather and trail conditions. However, the most popular time to trek is during the autumn season, which is September to November, and the spring season, which is March to May.

    • During the autumn season, the weather is dry and clear, making it the best time to trek for clear views of the Annapurna mountain range. The temperatures are also mild during this time, making it comfortable for hiking. Additionally, the autumn season also coincides with the festival of Dashain and Tihar, which is an added cultural experience.
    • The spring season is also an ideal time for the short ABC Trek, as the weather is mild and the rhododendrons and other flowers are in full bloom. The temperatures are also mild during this time, making it comfortable for hiking.
    • The monsoon season, which is June to August, is not considered the best time to go on the short ABC tre, as the trail can be slippery and the views are often obstructed by clouds.
    • The winter season, which is December to February, can also be challenging as the weather is cold and the trail can be icy, making it hard to trek. However, if you are an experienced trekker and are well prepared for the cold weather, it can be an exciting time to trek as the mountain views are clearer and the trail is less crowded.

In conclusion, the best time to go on the short ABC Trek is during the autumn and spring seasons, which are September to November and March to May, respectively.

    Food during short ABC Trek:

The nine-day Annapurna Base Camp Quick Trek will include seven breakfasts, six lunches, and six dinners provided by Green Valley Nepal Treks. The tea house or lodge where you spend the night will provide both breakfast and dinner. You will get lunch at a good tea house on the way to your next destination.

The majority of the breakfast items served during the short ABC trek include chapati, bread, pancakes, French toast, and eggs, along with tea or coffee. One of Nepal's traditional dishes is dal bhat. Rice is referred to as Bhat and lentil soup as Dal. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods like chicken soup, pickles, etc. are served with the dal bhat. You can have dal bhat for lunch and dinner. Indeed, Dal Bhat is a fantastic hiking food. Also included is an unlimited refill. Additionally, there are Western lunch selections, noodle soups, and momo (steamed dumplings). You will also have the opportunity to taste Gurung cuisine. One such cuisine is called dhido, which is a porridge consisting of maize, buckwheat, barley, or millet. Most frequently, it is consumed with local chicken soup. Similarly to that, buffalo meat that has been smoke-dried can be consumed as sukuti. Similarly, you may have Gurung or Tibetan bread, which are fried, compacted, savory or sweet doughnuts.

Water service is available at every tea house. Although the short ABC Trek paths are home to several beautiful rivers and waterfalls, it is not advisable to consume the water directly. It is necessary to carry at least one LifeStraw water purifying pill. While hiking along the ABC routes, you may also query locals on the quality of the water supply.

    Accommodation during short ABC Trek:

In comparison to your short ABC Trek in the Himalayas, the lodging in Kathmandu and Pokhara is significantly nicer. Mountain lodges or sizable family residences serve as tea houses. These are made larger to accommodate visitors. These cottages used to provide food and tea to excursion groups, which is how the title became adopted.

Tea houses often provide twin-sharing accommodations with or without associated bathrooms. Communal restrooms are available in rooms without associated toilets. The beds in the rooms contain cushions and mattresses. Additionally, blankets are offered and, in certain places, might serve as extra blankets. The lower-elevation tea houses are often multi-story concrete structures with individual rooms and adjoining bathrooms designed in the West. But as you get higher, the accommodations get more primitive. A room in the dorm style is offered in most base camps. Dining takes place in the living room. In the spacious communal areas of the tea houses, you may meet trekkers from all over the world.

Amazing Trip - Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek experience was amazing from beginning to end. Before the journey, Arjun, who oversaw the logistics, was tremendously helpful, providing all the information required and responding to any queries. Gopal, my wonderful tour guide, went above and above to make this a wonderful experience! He was always concerned for my welfare and watched out for me while I was sick the first few days with a cold. He made it really comfortable, pleasurable, educational, and amusing. He would make a fantastic guide, in my opinion. We had such a beautiful view of the mountains, and I will for sure join Green Valley Nepal Treks on another trek in the future!

    FAQs
    • Yes, you definitely require trekking permits and they are:

      • TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System)
      • ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit)

You may rely on Green Valley Nepal Treks to assist you with all the documentation required to obtain these permits.

    • Here are a few tips from our experienced guides to avoid altitude sickness;

      • Slow ascend with proper rest and acclimatization
      • Drink enough water to get hydrated
      • Consume enough balanced diet food
      • Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco during the trek
      • Get prepared physically and mentally for the trek
    • Yes, it is highly recommended that you have travel insurance when participating in the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek. The trek takes place in a remote region with limited access to medical facilities, so it is important to have insurance in case of an emergency. Additionally, the trek involves some challenging conditions and there is always a risk of accidents or illnesses, so it's a good idea to have insurance to protect yourself financially.

    • You must make reservations for this walk in the spring (March, April, and May) and autumn seasons (September, October, and November) in order to complete this trek without extra trouble such as snow and slippery road. These months include bright skies, a variety of flowers in bloom, and lush rainforest. If you are lucky, you could come across a variety of wild animals.

    • Yes, trekkers will get Wi-Fi at several guesthouses for a nominal fee. In lower hills, it could function properly, but in the mountains, the connection might not be reliable, making it difficult for hikers to use the internet anytime they need to.

    • Yes, all guesthouses and lodges will have charging stations, however occasionally there may be load shedding issues, so it's best to have a power bank or extra batteries.

    • One option for getting water is to purchase mineral water bottles from stores located along the paths. Another way to purify tap or stream water before drinking is by bringing reusable water bottles and other types of water purification agents with you. The teahouses and the numerous streams and rivers along the path also offer the opportunity to replenish water bottles. We suggest drinking boiling water when you are at your lodge. Those who insist on exclusively drinking mineral water should be prepared to spend a little bit more money because the cost of bottled water increases as you move higher up.

    • It is possible to take a hot shower that is prepared by gas; these showers are referred to as gas showers or bucket showers. Due to the extreme cold, we normally wouldn't choose to take showers over 4000 meters.

    • You will be staying in Teahouses because there aren't many hotels in the mountains, especially the higher you go. As a result, your accommodation may be anything from a private single or double room to a bed in a communal. The lodging is quite minimal, and you usually share shower and restroom facilities with other hikers. Every teahouse offers a communal eating area with a wide selection of regional and western cuisine, as well as hot beverages like coffee and any type of tea found in the highlands.

    • There are no issues at all for vegetarians because lodges often provide vegetarian meals. Additionally, in order to prevent food poisoning, we constantly advise our clients to consume vegetarian meals. High altitude meals that are not vegetarian are unsafe for the stomach.
