Tamang Heritage, the main highlight of the trek, shows throughout the passing villages during the trek. Monasteries, chortens, mane on walls and prayer flags coupled with hospitable Tamang people makes the trek a memorable one. En route mesmerizing mountain vistas, flora and fauna, glaciers, waterfalls, turquoise lakes et cetera enchants traveler into further exploration.
Tamang Heritage Trekking is a conglomeration of exploration of Tamang community and Himalayan culture, trek to the Langtang Valley and wild adventure. Langtang is just a short drive from Kathmandu, yet filled with unimaginable surprises. Mountain views get better at each viewpoint and pass and entrance to villages are marked with prayer flags, chortens and stupas. The richness of Tamang culture and the hospitality they offer makes the trek an amazing experience.
The journey commences with a drive to Syabrubesi. The first day of the trek passes through Goljung upto Gatlang village which consists of traditional stone houses. The next day, we move to Tatopani passing Chilime Hydropower dam where hot water spring bath is a relaxing retreat. Walking through thick alpine vegetation and small Tamang settlements and a passing viewpoint offering idyllic views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Kerung and the like, we move downhill to Thuman. From this Tamang village, we move on to Briddim, a village of Tibetan origin. Our next stop, Lama Hotel is a six hours walk from Briddim and lies on the banks of Langtang river. Through dense forests we climb passing water mills, mane walls and chortens to reach the Langtang village. Kyanjin Gompa is a short hike the village, with dramatic panorama of the Himalayas. We trek back to Lama Hotel and then to Syabrubesi in the consecutive days. After an early morning breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 1 :Kathmandu arrivalOur Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. A drop to the Hotel by private tourist vehicle is arranged. You can either take a rest or meet us at our office and know the detailed arrangement of the Trek. B&B at the hotel.
Day 2 :Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467m)An early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around eight hours and passes through rural lowland villages where you can observe the procession of an ordinary day. Scenic views of mountains and stretches of rolling hills also accompany you. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 3 :Trek Syabrubesi –Gatlang(2238m)The trek commences with a hike that ascends for more than an hour and passes through Goljung village with scenic views of the mountain ranges keeping company. Ganesh, Gosaikunda, Langtang Lirung, and many others form a chain along with the underlying beautiful Goljung valley from the viewpoint. After lunch at Goljung village, we make our way to Gatlang, the beautiful Tamang village with stone houses where we enjoy the traditional and cultural practice of the locals. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 4 :Trek Gatlang- Tatopani(2607m)The trail descends to Thangbuchet, with the pleasing company of mountain ranges in the backdrop. We stop for lunch here. The Chilime Hydropower dam is located nearby. Crossing a suspension bridge, the trail further climbs to Tatopani where you can enjoy bathing in the healing natural hot water springs. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
Day 5 :Trek Tatopani to Thuman(2338m)The trail ascends passing through a dense alpine forest to Brimdang, a small Tamang settlement. Further on, we walk for a few hours climbing all the way to Nagthali Danda where you can enjoy great views of Kerung, Ganesh, Langtang et cetera and rest in the Gompa. We then move ahead to descend to Thuman, a traditional Tamang village with friendly and hospitable people. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
Day 6 :Trek Thuman –Briddim(2229m)We walk along the flat terrain and descend to Timure which is just a few hour's walks from the border to Tibet. Further down the trail, we reach the Tibetan Buddhist village of Briddim. Briddim’s unique Tibetan culture along with its hospitality makes up for a nice stay. We enjoy our evening meal with the host family and take part/observe the local traditions, culture, and lifestyle. You may also participate in a traditional dance with the locals.
Day 7 :Trek Briddim –Lamahotel(2470m)Today’s journey is up and down through river banks and dense forests to Lama Hotel. First, we descend to Ghopche Khola and the ascent through Rimche to descend again to the banks of Langtang River to reach the Lama hotel nearby. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 8 :Trek Lamahotel –SyabrubesiAs we descend through the stretch of green on this last day of the trek, we enjoy the scenic beauty of the hilly terrain while walking along the Langtang River. The easy trail through forests of bamboo and rhododendron takes around five hours to reach Syabrubesi where we reach towards the afternoon and take rest. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 9 :Drive Syabrubesi –KathmanduIt’s a scenic drive from Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu. The journey takes over eight hours and passes small rural settlements which thicken once entering the periphery of Kathmandu. To celebrate the successful completion of the journey, Green Valley Nepal Treks has scheduled a dinner in a Nepali restaurant. You can also stroll around Thamel, or head on for souvenir shopping in your free time.
Day 10 :International Departure or on ward for next program Departure from Kathmandu. A drop from the hotel to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of flight is arranged in a private tourist vehicle. You can also opt for another package with us and move towards the next destination.
