Upper Mustang Overland Tour route
The Upper Mustang tour route commences from Kathmandu and takes you to Pokhara via an airplane. After arriving in Pokhara, you take some time to explore the natural landmarks and then head out toward Beni Bazar via Tatopani. You now reach the lower part of the mustang where you get to taste some local apples at Kagbeni and then head out to Ghami. This is the final stop before the Upper Mustang. You head out to Lo-Manthang and admire this small settlement that is perched on a cliff. The Upper Mustang Jeep tour now takes us down to Chuksang and then to Kalopani. Head down the slippery terrain to arrive at Pokhara. Do some last-minute shopping in Pokhara, and finally, fly to Kathmandu where this Upper Mustang overland tour will come to an end.

Day 01 :Arrive at Kathmandu (1,340 m)You will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport. One of the members from Green Valley Nepal Treks and Research Hub will welcome you on the international airport terminal gate on behalf of us. He will then take you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to relax. In the evening, you will meet with other team members and have a welcome dinner organized by the company. You will stay overnight in a beautiful three-star hotel.

Day 02 :Trip preparation day in Kathmandu Today is a trip preparation day in Kathmandu. We will wake up early in the morning and go on a short guided tour to a few monuments like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later in the day, we will arrange all the equipment that we might need during the trip. We will stay overnight in a hotel.

Day 03 :Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (840m) – 30 minutes flight timeAfter having breakfast, we will head to the airport and fly to Pokhara. The flight will be short and scenic. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will move to our hotel and settle in. Later in the day, we will explore vibrant streets of Lakeside and do boating on the tranquil Fewa Lake. During the boating, we will get to see stunning views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m). We will stay overnight in a hotel.

Day 04 :4WD Jeep drive Pokhara to – Beni – Tatopani (2,600m); 5 hoursFrom today, we will begin our Upper Mustang Overland Tour. After having a delicious breakfast, we will begin driving towards Beni. The route will present you with beautiful scenery and mountain views. Upon reaching Beni, we will take a short break and have lunch. Further, we will continue our drive towards Tatopani. Tatopani is famous for its natural hot springs. Later in the day, we will refresh ourselves in the hot spring and end our day with tasty dinner. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 05 :Drive from Tatopani to Kagbeni (2,900 m); 4 and 1/2 hoursWe will begin our day with freshly brewed coffee along with gorgeous landscape view. After that, we will begin driving towards Kagbeni. Kagbeni is a beautiful village in the Lower Mustang. The route will be bumpy yet scenic. Upon reaching Kagbeni, we will check-in at the guesthouse and spend the rest of the day exploring around. We will get to experience the daily lifestyle and culture of locals. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 06 :Drive from Kagbeni to Ghami (3,510m); 5 hoursToday, the drive will take us to beautiful Ghami village. The route will include frequent rocky sections, however, we will get to witness a great landscape view. The drive will mostly include ascending. Upon reaching Ghami, we will rest and explore the village. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 07 :Drive: Ghami to Lo Manthang (3,840m); 5 hoursThe drive will take us to Dhakmar. Further, we will cross Tsarang La Pass and continue our drive towards Tsarang village. On the way, we will stop by at a monastery. The drive then takes us to Lo-Manthang, the capital of Mustang district. Here, we will get to experience rich Tibetan Buddhism as well as lifestyle, language, and assortments that matches with Tibetan people. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 08 :Explore Lo Manthang (3,840m)This is our free day at Lo-Manthang. We will spend our day exploring the village. First, we will take a short drive to Kora La border i.e. Nepal and Tibet border. On the way, we will get to see yak grazing in fields along with Tibetan style houses. As the region is highly influenced by Tibetan culture, we will get to see monastery and gompas that resemble this religion. Later, we will explore a cave that has 100 rooms in a single wall with a single door. After exploring around, we will return back to Lo-Manthang and end our day with a delicious dinner. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 09 :Drive from Lo-Manthang to Chhuksang (2,980m); 6hours After having breakfast, we will drive by the Kaligandaki River. On the way, we will get to see ancient stupas, monasteries, and the same panoramic views of Himalayas. Driving on a rugged path, we will reach Chhuksang village for the night stay. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 10 :Drive from Chhuksang to Kalopani (2530m); 5 hoursLeaving Upper Mustang area behind, today we will drive and once again in the lower part of Mustang. The route will present us blend of Nepalese and Tibetan cultural villages. Similarly, we will also get to see stunning views of Himalayan mountains during the drive. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 11 :Drive from Kalopani to Pokhara (840m)After having breakfast, we will drive back to Pokhara. We will pass by many small villages on the way along with accompanied by superb landscape views. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will check-in at your hotel and spend the rest of the relaxing. In the evening, we will explore the bustling market of Lakeside and do shopping. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 12 :Fly back to Kathmandu (1,340m)Today, a morning flight will take us back to Kathmandu. The flight will be short and provide us aerial views of Annapurna Himalayas. After landing at Kathmandu airport, we will drive to our hotel and rest for the day. If you want we can also do a sightseeing tour. In the evening, you will join the farewell dinner organized by the company. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 13 :Final Departure As per your flight departure time, one of the representatives from our company will drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport terminal gate for your flight back to your next destination.
