Manaslu Region

The Manaslu region is a stunning and relatively remote trekking area in north-central Nepal, centered around Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the world's eighth-highest peak. Located in the Gorkha District, this region offers a less crowded alternative to popular treks like Annapurna and Everest.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek circles the mountain, passing through diverse landscapes from subtropical forests and terraced fields to high alpine terrain and the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,106m). The region is rich in Tibetan Buddhist culture, with traditional villages, monasteries, and prayer flags dotting the trail.

Designated as a conservation area in 1998, Manaslu is home to diverse wildlife including snow leopards, red pandas, and Himalayan tahr. The area requires special permits and trekkers must be accompanied by a registered guide, helping preserve its pristine character while supporting local communities.

The best trekking seasons are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November), when clear skies offer spectacular mountain views.
