Recently, my husband and I took in a Himalayan dawn from Nagarkot, a settlement in the hills above the Kathmandu Valley. After leaving Kathmandu with our guide before daybreak. After a one and a half hour trip, we reached Nagarkot. We hiked to the viewing platform after enjoying a hot cup of Nepali coffee, and we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the Himalayas. It was easy to see Mount Everest. We trekked through towns for many hours after breakfast at a neighboring hotel, watching the locals go about their everyday lives. The historic Chagunarayan Temple is where our hike came to an end. We appreciate our guide's understanding of the region's flora and culture as well as his entertaining company.

For someone like myself who has never been to Nepal, it was an unbelievable experience. Although many people decide to hike to Mustang, I decided to get there by vehicle because I want my vacation to be more about seeing the beauty of nature than it is about suffering through long days of walking. One of my all-time favorite experiences was this one. The staff at Green Valley Nepal Treks is fantastic. They are really courteous, and professional, and make sure you comprehend everything before you leave. They took us up from our hotel, drove us to Sarangkot, the launch site for paragliding, and then transported us back to our hotel from the landing site. They are fantastic tour operators.
