Exciting EBC Trek with Helicopter Return

Words are inadequate for this. From the first day of my trip till the moment I boarded my plane home, everything was wonderful. Since this was my first visit to Nepal, I was astounded by the country's warm welcome, unfailing kindness, and, of course, its breathtaking natural beauty. My experience on the Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter return flights was just mind-blowing. Green Valley Nepal Treks deserves a huge thumbs up for proposing this trip and for their fantastic service!

Green Valley - Everest Three Passes Trek Review

The Three Passes Trek is the ultimate tour of the Everest region. It was my first trek at altitude, and I was a little concerned about attempting this route, but I am so happy I did it. The Three Passes Trek takes you off the beaten path (read crowded trail) of the straight up and down EBC route, and provides all of the highlights of the region, both in terms of stunning mountain views and the local culture.

We completed our clockwise circuit (Renjo Pass, Cho La Pass, and Kongma La Pass) in 17 days, and probably could have accomplished everything in about 15 days, however it was important to have some buffer space to acclimatize and rest. Be prepared for cold weather and snow - we had about a foot of fresh snow going over the Cho La Pass, which created beautiful scenery along with an extra hard push to the top.

Also, expect to spend time in Lukla after your trek is done as flight delays are the norm. It is definitely a much more challenging route, but the rewards are absolutely worth the effort!

I cannot say enough good things about Green Valley and the organization of this trek.

I decided to book with Green Valley for a few reasons, but one of them was the level of communication Rajendra Lamichhane (Raj)

provided from the beginning. He took the time to respond to all of my questions (I had a lot) before I even booked my trip with them. I felt comfortable trusting the logistics to him and his team, and I do not regret it at all - they provided me with choices and executed all my decisions perfectly, including hotels in Kathmandu, internal travel, the trek itself, as well as a side trip to Chitwan and jungle safari.

Raj stayed in touch with me throughout my time in Nepal to ensure everything was going well, troubleshoot issues on the fly (delays in Lukla), and make sure I was safe. He even relayed messages to my wife back home for me (I did not have the reception at higher altitudes, but my guide did - Raj worked with Nabin to get messages to my wife). It was these little things that exceeded my expectations that made my experience with Green Valley so memorable.

However, in the end, the trekking experience really comes down to your guide - and Green Valley provided me with the absolute best. Nanda Lal Rai (Nabin) was professional, experienced, fun, supportive, knowledgeable, and an all-around good person. I would not have been able to complete the Three Passes without Nabin. He always had a smile on his face, which was contagious even during the more strenuous portions of our journey together. He made recommendations on the food I should eat each day based on his experience with energy requirements, would ensure I was drinking enough to stay hydrated, and that I had enough tea to stay warm.

There is a lot of downtime on treks like this, and it was an absolute pleasure to get to know Nabin on a personal level. He is an outstanding person and I am lucky enough to have had the pleasure to spend 18 days with him. Nabin made my trek in Nepal what it was - outstanding! Thank you my friend for such a wonderful experience.

I will absolutely be back in Nepal again, with my wife next time, and I plan to organize everything through Green Valley…. with Nabin as our guide of course.

Very Good Trek - Everest Gokyo Trek via Salleri

Green Valley Nepal Treks was wonderful - even exceptional both in terms of organization and of the actual trekking.

Before our trip, KP patiently answered my many emails, providing details, explanations, and options, always available, and always answering - a very big thank you to KP.

Our Guide Gopal was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the terrain and the Himalayas of course but also animals, plants, climate change, agriculture, religion, etc Gopal was always available to chat, laugh or just sit and a drink (honey lemon tea only please) - very attentive to our walking speed, walking ability, climatization to altitude. Gopal will make you feel safe and comfortable.

Thanks a lot, KP & Gopal

Fitness with Everest Gokyo Trek via Salleri

I lost 10 kilos after the EBC - Gokyo trip with The Green Valley, which I could never have done during the 2 years going to the fitness center. And the most important thing is that this fit-getting trip is full of great sights and memorable experiences.

Green Valley planned and supported everything for me to enjoy nature, and fulfill the adventure. Especially thanks to my guide, Tamang Sapta, I had everything I needed to conquer all challenges. He was always patient and helpful, encouraging me to go forward and climb higher.

Of course, this is trekking, not normal touring, I can't ask for days full of peacefulness and smoothness. I chose this tour for experiencing, conquering, and weight loss; and I chose Green Valley as the perfect partner to overcome 16 interesting days with me. Thanks a lot.

Best Trekking Company for Everest 3 High Passes Trek

I booked my Everest Three Passes trek in spring 2017 with Green Valley

KP, one of the green valley directors, was extremely helpful in explaining the tour options, visa/permit requirements, and how to prepare for the trek. Friendly and helpful, he is available to answer questions not directly related to the trek as well and met me for welcome meals pre and post-trek. Kp cares deeply about your trekking experience and is willing to customize and adapt his programs to suit your needs.

My guide Tshering was very helpful and accommodating as well. Despite his youthful appearance, he is a very experienced, knowledgeable, and hardworking guide. He is well-liked by lodge owners and his peers and is able to help you get good rooms and food in a timely manner during the trek. He is from Lukla and knows the Everest valley very well. He gave good briefings about the route, sites, and insights into Sherpa culture and food. For fit-time-crunched trekkers, Tshering can accommodate a fast-paced hike and we were able to shave 2 days off the schedule.

I would highly recommend booking your Nepal trekking trip with the green valley. The customer service is top notch and the prices are very reasonable and competitive.

EBC with 3 high passes - amazing trip & great service!

As a solo traveler, I did the 14-day Everest Base Camp with 3 high passes trek in Nov-Dec with Green Valley Nepal Treks and enjoyed every single moment of the trip. If you are looking for a tour agency that will take care of your treks from start to finish, look no further and go with Green Valley. Highly recommended!

I contacted a few local agencies around 3 weeks before my trip and decided to go with Green Valley for 2 reasons: very competitive pricing compared to other agencies, and very supportive and throughout responses from one of the owners - Arjun. He promptly answered all of my questions and came up with a customized itinerary that matched my schedule. All services including airport transfers and accommodations were well-delivered as promised. Arjun was very kind to show me around some of the sites in Kathmandu and helped me with money exchange, buying SIM cards and trekking gear for my trip, and meeting me and other trekkers after the trip for farewell dinner and to get our feedback.

My guide (Sapta) and porter (Phurba) were beyond amazing. Both of the guys were very helpful, humorous, and open to changes in the itinerary. The three passes were hard, but the trek was very rewarding and memorable with the right companion. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Sapta constantly checked my health condition and made sure that I stayed warm and had my meals properly. I got a little sick after the first pass and even sprained my ankle during the trip. However, my guide and porter were very patient, and caring and ensured I took it slow and had sufficient time to rest. I was especially moved at the end of the trip when Sapta went to a local tailor store and made me a Vietnamese flag so we could hang it up in the teahouse besides other country flags. Thanks to both guys, I laughed a lot during the trek, was able to finish on time according to the schedule, and left Nepal feeling like I have gained two brothers.

For a person who has traveled a lot, Nepal holds such a special place in my heart thanks to the spectacular scenery and amazing people. Many thanks to the Green Travel Nepal team for making my trip such a memorable one!

Amazing Everest Three Passes with Green Valley

We did a 16-day trek of the Everest 3 passes including Everest Base Camp/Gokyo with Green Valley Nepal Treks and thoroughly recommend them to book your trek through. Arjun and his team were fantastic with their service from email communications to sending out a happy smiling driver to pick us up at Kathmandu airport.

We went with Green Valley as we were astounded at the $$ difference between booking with offshore companies and going local. We decided to go with a local Nepalese company and we're glad we did despite any anxieties some have over sending a deposit prior to your trek. It was considerably cheaper but also your money is going directly into the local economy.

We came across large groups through the offshore trekking companies - one having a staggering 31 tourists in it - and decided that we were on to a winner when it ended up being just myself, my husband, and our awesome guide Jommy(Jami) plus porter Korrigan.

Green Valley delivered on everything promised, we had airport transfers, a day's touring around Kathmandu, the trek itself including airport transfers, flights, meals, accommodation, and a great meal with Arjun at the end to discuss our trek and what we did and didn't like.

We were overawed by the scenery and we've done a lot of back-country trekking in New Zealand. The 3 passes are hard but hugely rewarding if you want to get off the beaten track in some parts - go with a guide and porter - it makes it so much easier and gives you time for photographs and to absorb the sights. Jommy ensured we were acclimatizing properly and would make sure he constantly monitored our health as we got higher. We always felt like we were in safe hands.

He was constantly smiling and full of knowledge of all the flora and fauna in the region and always had our best interests at heart when it came to teahouses, meals, and ensuring we got good rooms.

I cannot say enough good things about Jommy - even though we were feeling low, he was a constant source of inspiration, and his infectious laugh and general attitude kept us going. The world needs more people like Jommy.

Both Jommy and Arjun recommended we not eat meat while we were trekking and amazingly neither of us go sick. Sticking to the rest/acclimatization days we did not suffer any effects of altitude.

We stayed at one of the company's hotels, Hotel Florid. It is right in the heart of Thamel, clean and the shower is a welcome return after your trek. It also has a lovely lush garden oasis where you have meals.

Thanks, Arjun and your fantastic team for a great trek, we will be singing your praises to anyone heading to Nepal!

    Three High Passes Trek!

Green Valley organized an awesome trip for me to do the Three High Passes in the Everest region. Unfortunately, I had to come down early due to altitude sickness, but Green Valley was with me every step of the way. Raj met me at the hospital and helped smooth over things so that I could get discharged as soon as possible. I had no intention of spending the night in the hospital while on holiday. He even picked up my medical records for me later in the week since I had moved on to Pokhara. Highly recommended Green Valley!
