I had the pleasure of returning to Nepal, this time to see the Everest region. Discovering the breathtaking Gokyo Lake was an amazing experience. We ascended Gokyo Ri with my guide in tow and then flew in a helicopter from Gorakshep to Kathmandu. It was a stunning view from up there. The most breathtaking panoramic view of the Everest region may be found at Kala Patthar. We took a flight back to Kathmandu at last. I contacted Green Valley Nepal Treks a few months out to plan a family trek to easily get the best view of Mount Everest. Arjun’s communication and information was decisively detailed and thorough.

He planned our Everest View Trek itinerary around the dates we were available ensuring every possibility to maximize our adventure.

Also, he asked the guides to take extra care of us because we were on the hike with two children (17, and 13). Both my children wanted to see the Everest peak but had never been to such high altitude trekking. So, I was afraid to take them to any other higher-altitude treks. So, me and my husband reached out to Arjun and he suggested we go for the Everest View Trek.

The trek gave us a chance to get the closest view of the Everest peak from the Everest View Hotel. Other than that, we also explored the Tengboche Monastery and the Sherpa Culture Museum. Not just my children but we (husband and wife) also loved the trip.

It was not as difficult as we expected and even our children completed the trek with great joy. We, as parents are so proud that we could take our children into the lap of nature and fulfill their dream to get a close view of the tallest peak in the world. A huge credit for this goes to Arjun and his team in the Green Valley Nepal Treks for suggesting this trekking alternative.

I can’t recommend GVNT enough. I went for the Luxury Everest Heli Trek with Green Valley Nepal and the flight with Arjun and his team was awesome. They were attentive, assuring, and endlessly helpful in helping in the preparation and execution of the trek.

With lots of weather-related pivots and delays on the front and back end of the flight, the experience was always comfortable. I knew great lengths were being gone to on the back end to ensure all options were being explored for transportation.

My guide Sapta was knowledgeable and very much worked with me to deliver the type and scale of experience I was looking for in terms of pace and overall focus in safely getting me to EBC. Besides, the pilot was professional with much experience flying over the mountains.

First watched Everest from below and then watched Everest from a helicopter, I had the best experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. Amazing views of the mountains, Sherpa villages, rural parts of the Khumbu region, and slowly into the urban civilization. I just loved the heli return after such a tiresome trekking experience of all three passes and the highest point, Kalapatthar. The flight was very smooth and before onboarding the helicopter, our guide also helped us a lot. Overall, Green Valley Nepal Treks arranged an amazing helicopter flight from Kalapatthar to Kathmandu leaving me awestruck with the views and adventure.

We trekked from Lukla to EBC while exploring Gokyo and Cho La Pass and back over 17 days. We booked the trip through Green Valley after reading good reviews and I am very glad we did and would recommend this company wholeheartedly.

Booking the trip through Arjun in the Kathmandu office was straightforward and smooth. Arjun accommodated all requests easily and communication was always excellent.

The trip included 2 nights in a hotel in Kathmandu which I was very pleased with. It was well situated with everything you need nearby. We arrived late after a long flight and were able to get dinner via ideal room service.

The transfers between Kathmandu and Lukla were arranged by Green Valley and this is where booking with a Nepalese company is advantageous as we had the best transfers. This meant that they were at a sensible time of the day and were in and out of Kathmandu without long road transfers to other airports. We spoke to other travelers along the trail and back in Kathmandu and no one else had such a good service. Until you are in Nepal and trying to fly back to Kathmandu tired and grubby you cannot appreciate how valuable this service is!

Our guide Bishwa met us in Lukla from the airport and was with us every step of the way. He was organised, and experienced and made the whole experience fantastic. Technically it would be possible to trek without a guide and it was something we considered but I am very glad that we decided to trek with Bishwa. All the logistics (sorting out room bookings, organizing food and drinks, dealing with overbooked tea houses) were completely taken care of by Bishwa so we could just relax and enjoy the trek.

Without Bishwa we would not have had such a good experience. Going to such a high altitude in an unfamiliar environment is also an experience that benefits from having some guidance as Bishwa was always there for reassurance and advice and to add some fun - and be a professional photographer!

The trekking is not too much of a challenge as you do not walk too far most days. The bigger challenge is the altitude. You will feel cold - take the best quality warm clothes and a sleeping bag. You’ll be grateful for them! Also for the middle part of the trek for about 7 days, there is no running water so be prepared to embrace mountain life. You can book a private tour with Green Valley or have other trekkers in the same group. There are pros and cons to both but there are no big groups of 20-25 like we saw with other agencies which looked less enjoyable.

Finally booking with a Nepalese company (as opposed to a UK/USA based version) is in my opinion the best choice. The service was fantastic and at every stage, we were always receiving the best care and having a better time than other groups. I would recommend Green Valley completely, they were brilliant.

I had an amazing experience trekking the Manaslu Circuit with Green Valley. Exceptionally helpful at every point and well-organized from the beginning. I wholeheartedly endorse them.
