CAAN has decided to operate all lukla flight from Ramechhap
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to continue with regular flights on the Ramechhap-Lukla route even after the completed runway renovation of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). After operating flights smoothly in this spring season (March, April, May 2023) CAAN has decided to give continuity to regular flights on the sector in the coming days. Flights to Lukla are being diverted from TIA to Manthali Airport in Ramechhap because heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport. The airline companies are also positive about operating regular Lukla flights via Ramechhap.
Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport
Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport is located in headquarter of Ramechhap district of Province No. 3 in Nepal. Ramechhap Airport is also known as Manthali Airport.
Manthali Airport, located 132 km northeast of Kathmandu, is a 5-hour drive from Kathmandu. The airport is situated at an elevation of 474 meters above sea level and has a 518-metre runway.

So you will catch your flight easily without having stay overnight at Ramechep. This is easy way to remove the hassle of finding accommodation in Ramechep.
Ramechhap to Lukla Flight Time
The flight takes 20 minutes from Manthali to Lukla which is a very safe and scenic journey to the gateway of Everest Base Camp Trek as well as other Everest Region Trekking which is Tenzing Norgay Airport (also Lukla Airport).
Alternative to Ramechhap Lukla Flight
For those who want to escape road travel there is an option of a helicopter ride. Kathmandu to Lukla Helicopter Flight costs $2200 USD per flight which accommodates 5 people in it. The helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes 40 to 50 minutes to reach the Tenzing Norgay Airport, Lukla (2,860m).
